Everyone calls Wlad great, but why hasn't he fought Valuev or James Toney?

Wladamir would literally murder former MW James Toney.

Sorry, I love Toney, but not in a million years.

That's right. He is much better currently than those you mentioned. One-punch KO power, excellent jab, always in great shape. It would be a very comfortable fight for him.

Klitschko/Toney would be horrible, but Wlad would win. You have to remember that Sam Peter outboxed a pretty good version of heavyweight-Toney, so a Klitschko fight really would be no contest. Toney would sit on the ropes doing barely anything, except eat jabs.

I don't see how Peter beating Toney has anything to do with Wlad beating Toney.

You're taking an aggressive, volume punching, 6 foot fighter, and comparing him to a tenative, 6'7'' fighter.

It's a completely different fight. Peter won due to his volume and his punch placement.

He also threw left uppercuts. Klitschko doesn't throw a lot of volume, doesn't place his punches the same way as Peter, and doesn't throw uppercuts.

In so far as Toney sitting on the ropes, in order for this to happen, Klitschko would have to press the fight, which isn't in his nature as he is a tenative, cautious fighter.

This will especially be the case agianst Toney who he will find very difficult to hit cleanly, and will put himself in position to be countered every time he commits to a punch.

Are you sure you're thinking of the right person? In all of Wlad's fights that I've seen recently he's been coming forwards constantly pounding his opponents with his jab. Looked fairly aggressive to me...

Only when his opponent runs because he has no answers, IE, Chambers, and Ibriganov, and then only at the beckoning of Manny Steward.

Although, I wouldn't consider Wlad to be extraordinarly aggressive against Ibriganov due to Ibraganov's style, which is remarkably close to Toney's as far as his defense is concerned. His defense made Klitschko tenative, and made it one of his worst fights.

Toney doesn't just sit there or run though, he responds. His movements are for a reason. He won't get Ibriganoved. He has potential to make it a close fight. Klitschko will have to work or just not commit to any of his punches, and look worse than he's ever looked before.

Toney has never been in a position to fight Wlad, and given what heavies have to do these days to get a title shot this says it all

Valuev and a younger John Ruiz were both significant fighters of the last decade who never faced a Klitschko, although both were WBA champions and Don King fighters

Your arguments all seem to be along the line of "even though Toney has looked fat and **** against much lesser opponents, he will somehow be a nightmare for the most dominant heavyweight out there".

Another thing to keep in mind, remember when Wlad couldn't duck Corrie Sanders punches?
