I thought it was known that he worked out in prison? In his book he mentions working up to his first set of 100 unbroken push ups. He doesn't say anything about losing any size or anything like that, I've read he looked smaller on the way out plausibly, highly likely he came off cycle, maybe didn't have the equipment he wanted etc. Chances are he didn't do much in jail but shadow box and do push ups. Afterwards he jumped on the gear grew to suit and sat pretty. But who knows.

Yes PED's do make you bloat, well some common ones most certainly. You can't just say "PED's" there are so, so many. Second if you don't think Mike Tyson a 5ft9 guy (5ft10 at a push) who got up to 240lbs lean wasn't on something you're kidding yourself.

Show me the PEDs besides what I mentioned, HGH that make you bloat, I am open minded.
I know there are many with different effects. Also it was said that he was more ripped-I did not even see evidence of bloating.
About his height: endless sources talk about guy's true height, but I think nothing under 5'10" is plausible, maybe 5'10.5". Being much shorter than his opponents, squat/wide, & not very upright a fighter makes him look even shorter.

But that is not a big difference.
I would agree with you that IF anyone this height at a real 240 lbs. LEAN (not just not at all overweight, which is ~ 15% BF), he used something.
When he weighed almost 240 he was not lean. Certainly not 240 & lean.
That difference of 20 lbs. of pure muscle would be beyond what is natural-& I can cite various charts to support that.

But he basically went from ~10% Body Fat at up to ~ 220 lbs., to late 230's at approaching 20% BF.
That is all he had to do-go from lean to not so lean, but by no means yet fat, to add that weight.
I see no evidence that he was

more muscular at the heavier weights.
While he could have used PEDs at any point, there is also no plausible even circumstantial evidence he did-or needed to.

Remember when Tyson was in WWE back in 1998 during the rise of the Attitude Era? That was the smallest I remember seeing him

Tyson was pretty small during the interview Larry King did with him in prison compared to how he looked when he was cuffed and sent to jail.

At the time of the King prison interview, he looked shockingly small FOR HIM.

But, he wasn't training. Just doing pushups really. And eating Indiana prison food. They want prisoners to stay docile so they do everything to keep them that way dietarily and otherwise. He fell into that. Did his time.

Shredded doesn’t = stamina. Look at Joshua and Fury for instance who would you say has the better tank?

Being "shredded" isn't actually that hard to achieve and isn't any indication of how hard/properly you are training for a boxing match. The dedication and focus required to properly prepare yourself mentally and physically for a fight require a much stricter approach. Tyson may very well have been training properly after prison I have no idea, I personally think he slipped more mentally than physically.

I’m sure he lifted a lot of weights but it’s doubtful that he was able to do much else

Footage of Tyson coming out of prison showed he had visibly shrunk.
his lifestyle had changed. Tyson was out of shape when he went in prison. Once inside he became quite thin. I wouldn’t mind knowing what he weighed coming out.

According to Don King, Tyson weighed 272 when he went to prison.

His weight was always in his legs. When he got heavy, he almost waddled because his thighs rubbed together.

Even when he looked small up top, he was still over 200 pounds. When he was a scawny teenager sitting next to Cus D'Amato before the Olympic Trials in the segment ABC films, he was 200 pounds.

Being shredded takes genetics and dedication, but isn't really related to being in shape for boxing. Plenty of great HWs were never very lean.

what do you think Mike weighed when he came out of prison?

Tyson always had small calves and ankles for such big legs. If he looked small on top after his sentence..that might apply to his upper legs too?
