Pre ANY PPV fight it's all about getting said PPV's SOLD , both fighters have their respective responsibilities and roles to play in this it's how these top dogs can double their purses , it's just the way the business works and it's always worked that way and the only people who are crying about it are the people who don't understand that , I'm sure I heared Fury state in the post bout presser that he respected Usyk and was genuinely complimentary towards him , to tell the truth though IF Usyks complemented Fury they must have been lost in translation as I don't recall hearing any . GREAT FIGHT though , both respect and praise to both fighters on the fight and the way they both conducted themselves in the post fight pressers .
Your boy was being walked down and beat up by someone he degraded as a "midget," and a "middleweight." After the the ref saved his ass from a knock out and one judges tried to rig it in his favor, he came out and said that the gave it to Usyk because of the war. **** Tyson Fury...**** Tyson Fury...**** Tyson Fury. He is a bully and he got exposed.
The only thing that spoiled it was Fury bringing up the war. Before that I was actually sympathetic towards him but that was just plain classless and unsportsmanlike
What? I never said anything about him steam rolling Klitschko, I merely stated (in the proceeding paragraph) that he would need to up the tempo in any rematch. I then said he was 26 when they fought and what he could do at that age he can't do now. I've repeatedly said his fight against Klitschko was the most boring thing I've ever seen.
First up - I agree with the OP @miniq. This was a fantastic fight between two of the best HW fighters we’ve ever seen. I have never seen such a technical and tactical HW fight before. Astounding. But I also think this idea that Fury needs to change his strategy in the rematch is overblown. His weight, tactics, and performance were all excellent and it was one of his best performances. Unfortunately for him, Usyk just happened to be a bit greater on the night. Fury’s issue was staying focussed when he was ahead, and the fact that he thought he had Usyk under control which was very foolish. And then to top it off, he had his dad in the corner undermining his amazing team of Sugar Hill and Andy Lee, telling him he was winning. Had Fury stayed switched on and not gotten himself dropped, and if he had not believed that he was ahead he could have grasped the victory last night. He *looked* good enough to do it. That same Fury did enough good stuff to show he could beat a great like Usyk. Just got his head turned for some reason (metaphorically and literally ) Anyway - great, great fight. Would love to see it again.
Fury reminds me of the guy that does all sort of crap to **** some one off and then says I am sorry and expect it all to be forgotten. And only says sorry if he loses. Add in his crew, old man, who also are also some of the biggest assholes. I dont buy the act.
Shows how smart Fury is really. Knew from outset he was going to box from the outside on this man and not rely on this Kronk CRAP. Brought everything in his tool shed. It was Fury of old. The Fury who can move and shake. Insane lateral movement. Never setting himself...and it really made Usyk work and think hard. It was extremely hard if not impossible to get to him in them mid rounds. Usyk looked totally done for....Early round complacency and late round stamina with complacency cost the fight. Corner needs sacking off. Never have liked Sugar Hill. 2nd Wilder fight, great executed perfectly big stiff jab...but that's all. 3rd Wilder bout was Fury on instincts alone nothing more. Him hyping Fury up calling him the big dog late fight when he's exhausted and prone to getting dropped is lame and stupid. Get the jab out and move. Stay away from the man with more in the tank who NEEDS rounds. Usyk knew he was going to fall short with his jab so ditched it and Fury couldn't use his own late fight because his feet had slowed too much and he knew it would leave him open to the left hand.
I agree. Wholeheartedly. The top guys weren't facing each other after Wlad and Fury retired. Fury came back and beat Wilder, Usyk came and beat AJ, the winners faced and the belts are united. However I can't deny that Fury was classless in that post fight interview.
Worst part of the fight. I thought fury would have more grace than that. But he must have been concussed and his crap corner were telling him false information. Fury should take a lot of confidence if a rematch happens. There were more things Fury can adjust for and do better...whilst Usyk has less in my eyes.
His post fight press conference was much better. He basically says if he fought he was losing he'd have tried knocking Usyk out, but his whole corner told him he just needed to win the round to seal victory.
