I agree that mayweather beats cotto (unfortunately) on may 5th, but what i was saying is that to say pedro hasn't had any effect on cotto as boxer at all is crazy. Cotto has shown improvement, not enough to beat mayweather but his footwork and ring awareness has changed and that should count for something.
Hell yeah I think they have chemistry..... I think we understand each other now......I can't wait to see how it plays out and I hope Cotto is really a better fighter now.
Im not saying Diaz hasn't had any effect, Im just saying we dont know how much of an impact as its only one training camp and that fight really went how the first Cotto vs Margo should have. I'm just saying people are overrating Diaz....
Hell, after they (Cotto May) enter the ring and get passed the presentation they just need to rise PBF's arm and declare him the victor! This fight will be Floyd's most difficult to date. Cotto will hurt him.
Diaz proved himself a great trainer long before he trained Cotto, so how you can say he is over-rated is baffling. Diaz was a coach of the Cuban Boxing Team for years as it dominated the Olympics. Think about it, a country the size of Cuba (11.3 Million) totally dominating Olympic Boxing. When Diaz mentored the Chinese Boxing team prior to 2008, the more than exceeded expectations in the Olympics and became a Bona Fide power.
That confidence will disappear once Miguel Cotto finds himself in a 'dark' place out there in that squared circle. Cotto's 0-2 (2KOs) at the MGM Grand. Floyd will make it 0-3 (3KOs). I pick Floyd by LRS.
Cotto has been to the dark place - the Land of Blood and Misery - and has returned complete. Now it is time for Floyd to take a journey to the Land of Blood and Misery, and Miguel Cotto will be his Tour Guide. :yep
I always thought the new trainer/weight class thing was just a marketability tool so a lot of fans can have hope that it will somehow drastically change the fighter. . . I'm sure it can definitely help, but not enough where you can say "Cotto would have done this. . . Or that. . . " It won't make enough of a difference for a guy to win a fight in which he was completely dominated in, nor will it give him that much greater of a chance against a guy like Floyd. Essentially, I think Pac dominates him all the same, trainer/weightclass notwithstanding. . . Just like Mayweather would have the same chance regardless of the weight, and who was training Cotto. I think Cotto is pretty much the same Cotto who fought Pacquiao. . . Maybe a little slower, but in turn, maybe has a little better punch resistance. If Mayweather chops Cotto up, and dominates him for 12 rounds, or KO's him, he gets the same credit as Pac. . . I'm looking forward to the matchup because I do think Cotto has that "boxer/puncher" style that COULD give Mayweather problems. . . He's kinda like a refined, but not as rugged, Jose Luis Castillo.
