Cano was taking a beating in that fight. Margo was getting outboxed and outclassed. Nothing new there. Big difference. He wasnt going to win it, but that was a bad stoppage.

 

Apparently according to NYSAC's rules, a completely swollen shut eye or any type of vision impairment is an automatic stoppage. I wish I could quote you the source but I've read one too many articles since lasts Sunday.

 

BUT if the ref had let it go until the end he was gonna KO SSM!!!! (just like he KOed Pac . . . lol

 

The doctor has to protect their fighter, his opinion was the eye was at risk, it probably wasn't properly healed and yes it probably could have been at risk, fair stoppage. If it went on it would be a shutout anyway, no controversy

 

Most of these fools know the rules! the rest of them just need therapy! All of them would rather see Margo die in the ring by a shot he cannot see then take a lose to his new daddy Cotto!

 

Its hard to accept anything when pride gets in the way. I think that Margarito's reaction to the stoppage gets overlooked, I would have thought he'd make a bigger scene if he in fact thought he was gaining some ground. The man is tough and no beating big enough will take that away from him but its sad when people will reach for anything in order to discredit another mans efforts.
