seriously man. I could write out a list of things that are wrong with Berto. He needs to just dump his corner, stop lifting weights unless it's squats and deadlifts and learn to box
A new trainer doesn't fix MOST problems. At THIS stage, Berto is what he is. There's no changing or fixing him. Khan can't be fixed either. At least Berto has decent powers of recovery though. When Khan get's seriously hurt, you know he's ****ed.
Perhaps, though I still be believe there's room for refinement if he seeks out the right trainer. Considering how good Maidana looked in his last outing with improvements in his movement and general defense, I'd like to see Andre work with Garcia.
Berto has china for a chin and goes into a shell when hurt. Havnt they taught him how to spin off the ropes or pivot, he just stands there and lets you maul him. I thought he was a punk before tonight but he came back n fought like a warrior. You can call me a fan now.
idk berto was always an outside fighter that would throw a set of combos and clinch and reset and do it again.... he just doesnt have the work rate to keep a busy fighter off of him... putting berto in the same level as gatti is an insult to gatti... gatti would let his hands go in those clinches unlike berto who was happy just holding and waiting for the ref to decided when to break them up. not one bit like gatti......
Berto's inside game is terrible he has no strength at all, he needs a new trainer asap his best style is where he flicks out a jab and looks for a big right hand hes tryna out brawl guys but it really is not workin at all
Berto clearly didn't have a Plan B when his Plan A(Hit dude from lower weight class until he falls over) didn't work. He obviously expected to hurt Guerrero badly with his power and it just didn't happen. He grossly underestimated Guerrero's resolve, plain and simple.
I agree that Berto is most effective when he works behind the jab, counters with the right hand and looks for opportunities to land the uppercut. Guerrero simply did an outstanding job of slipping the right hand, staying in Andre's chest and *gasp* absorbing Berto's uppercut without flinching. If Berto can't land the right hand or hurt you with the uppercut, he can't win. War Guerrero.
yeah i agree, but tbh Berto made the right hand so predictable Guerrero would just duck it then get in close, i dunno whats wrong with the guy he gets wobbled by the lightest punches but then can randomly take good punches he needs to work with Anne Wolfe asap
I would also add, the very very worse corner/trainer to that list. Berto is a great athlete who lacks skill and is very flawed, seriously think about it for a minute, it doesn't matter what style he uses, no one with that much speed, should ever be easy to hit.
