i for one would never diss on any ex-pro boxer record because me personally i can never be a boxer. i can only imagine the anxiety of going into a fight against another pro fighter. and by the way 10 win 4 loss record is respectable.
i felt oscar won 4 rounds and if i want to be generous i can give him the 12th round based off the fact that he had the better of the exchane in the last 30 seconds of the fight but then again that would be dumb on my part.
Floyd clearly won this fight. One judge did score it for Oscar 7-5. However, his card is suspect. He scored the 10th for Hoya. In that round Hoya was outlanded 20-7 and Oscar didn't even have one of his customary flurries. Round 10 was the most lopsided round of the fight at that point. Kaczmarek also scored round 12 for Hoya. Oscar was outlanded 23-12 in that round and really didn't do anything until the last minute.
there is 1 thing thats an absoloute certainty any fighter who dont have a great jab stands no chance against floyd, zab judah did very well in the first 4 rounds,if he could have maintained that level all fight he would have won imo. if oscar has a rematch and i was freddie roach id hammer it home again and again "double the jab up because it stops floyd counterpunching, thats the key"also if you notice when floyds back is to the ropes he tends to bend to his left mostly and as the fighter is coming in floyd turns the right glove almost like hes showing the palm of his hand with his left under his chin, oscar charged in a lot in those moments in the 1st fight ,what i think he should do is act as though hes gonna do the same but quickly at the last second throw a big uppercut to the body instead of swinging and missing because floyds ducked,if you throw the uppercut your at least gauranteed to make contact with the body or head.
Truth is nobody won this fight. It was a display of the worst fight that money can buy. Nobody came to fight or ruin their reputation by getting cought with a devastating punch. Both men really didnt want to go to war more so PBF with his defensive jogging. I bet Oscar would have loved a brawl in fact by the looks of it he was trying to start it.
I still think Oscar might have a better chance the second time around. I feel that Oscar really needs to prove himself and he is not going to lay down. Floyd could be so impressed with himself as the so called entertainer, that he could come in unfocused. I respect both of their abilities and look forward to the rematch. Cotto could diffinitely be the next opponent especially if Oscar wins and then later the big rubber match with Floyd. Again, if Floyd comes in unfocused we could be watching a different scenario on who will be fighting who. Oscar is not going out with a loss. He will knock out Forbes, fight Floyd, and one more. I believe he has more money then even his grand kids can spend. HE WANTS TO WIN.
DLH lost for two main reasons: 1) He stopped using his jab down the stretch. And even more importantly, 2) He gassed out down the stretch, as usual. The second point is something that Mayweather knew would happen -- in fact, he says it at the end of one of the 24/7 episodes in the buildup to the fight, something like 'we know he gets tired'. He was counting on DLH gassing out in the later rounds, and it worked perfectly. DLH only has himself to blame.
It's all about punches landed, not how aggressive a guy looks. You can be sure that if the judges didn't give it to Oscar, he didn't win the fight.
I didn't mean to demeen your achievements but 'Making it as a Pro' implys you won titles at a high level. Now if your going to come on here and say 'my opinion counts more because I've made it as a Pro' your going to get called on it and even if you had made it as a pro it wouldnt necessarily mean your right, plenty of world champions talk a load of **** and get many things wrong. Especially when you only watch highlights, I could patch together a fight you won to show highlights that made it look like your opponent won You sounded happy to see Derry Matthews stopped, bit of bad blood there?
t'was a close fight, similar to Pac-JMM, that could have gone either way and still not be considered robbery.
