http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/josh_gross/01/25/affliction.2/index.html Theres proof that Fedor only had a 4 week training camp and was fooling around with other things, but the next training camp for Barnett will be serious, I guess implying the one for Arlovski was not. It looked like Fedors punches were sloppier and slower than usual, he seemed a lot more sluggish against AA than against Sylvia. Amazing that he still won with such little preperation. Pity for Andrei though.....that 10 week camp really did work for nothing.
I don't really get the criticism, he has never been a fighter who consistently outpoints his opponent standing; he picks and chooses his openings in exchanges and lands big shots, and he did that last night even before the KO. Maybe he didn't have his best performance, but there is really not much to base it on, he didn't do anything particularity wrong, he just picked his shots against a more conventional striker, and found a home for one of his big shots. If anything, that was probably the hardest shot he has ever landed, it is really the only true standing KO he has ever had.
lol, its because Fedor has this auro of invincibility. Most people who saw the fight today only saw him once before(vs Sylvia). Now its like "tsk, he aint no god man... false alarm. Let go back to waiting for Jesus to return." I hope he lets this criticism slide but take the constructive criticism of his trainers.
I agree with this - but im not sure whether you or anyone else noticed but did you get the feeling that since fedor being in affliction and beating sylvia that the people around him are starting to get to close to him - IM not sure what it is but it seemed like he may have been getting taken off his usual track or being a stone cold spartan - whereas now, through no fault of his own, hes starting to get a bit more commercial? it sort of reminded me of rocky 3 i think it was with buster lang as Mr T haha Anyways hopefully Im wrong
Nah, I think it was even worse in Japan bro. He's just gettin popular in US and its we are exposed to it.
