Floyd's style is to be aggressive and to pressure his opponents, because his defensive capabilities become hindered against unorthodox fighters. Thankfully, for him he has several dimensions to his game and is able to pull it off, it goes to show how versatile of a fighter he really is. As far as Manny is concerned, well Manny will be Manny.

evidence that it won't be a sluggfest: Pac TKO'd DLH, Pac KO'd Hatton, Pac TKO'd Cotto

Floyd knows better than to slug it out with someone who can knock out those guys. He will be content with a boring decision if he even makes it to the fight.

That's not what past history shows us. In all honesty, unless Floyd has been holding out this is the only way he knows of how to combat the unorthodox stance. I myself think he can be very effective walking Pac down and being the aggressor. This will show if Pac has the wrinkles in his game to deal with it (still hasn't shown the ability to fight going backwards).

Round 4 of Mayweather/Corley was amazing.

What history are you refering to? This fight will be unprecedented for both fighters. No one either man has fought will be able to help them prepare for this fight. Both men are at the top of their games and have never fought their equal.

Keep in mind Floyd still has the ability to be very slick and elusive even when coming forward. It won't be like Hatton coming forward with his hands down screaming "hit me please!".

But its no where near the defense he has. Really I don't think he would risk it against a fighter like Pac who he knows has the power and he knows he can't knock out. If he tries to take the aggressive style and Pac takes it from him May his screwed whereas there is an ok chance he can use defense to get a decision, its the safer bet and its what he's more used to.

In turn, who has floyd ever fought that has Pac's intangibles? Speed, power, overall toughness, and the ability to fight at angles? no one I can think of.

  11. Since going up in weight Floyd has evolved into a retreating counterpuncher. Will he morph back fighting PAC? We'll see.

Mayweather of today is not the same as the 130lbr version. He has become overly defensive. Might be his undoing against Pac.

Floyd was already a counter puncher when he was in the lower weight classes except that he had good punching power but it has slightly diminish as he moved up in weight.

Mosely said it would be a very boring fight if it really happens.

Void does not have to do anything but stay standing at the end of the fight. Void's judges will be there for him. So will Void's referee.

You don't change what works. Though it may be true that Floyd should fight a defensive first fight Pacquiao is going to have to earn that respect from Floyd cause we all know Floyd is arrogant or "confident" enough to believe that the tactics he used against all the other unorthodox fighters is good enough to beat Pac and frankly imv it's a good option. Going backwards and letting Pac get his offense off isn't very smart in my estimation that's when he's at his absolute best. Like Floyd says "your going to have to show your versatile". All the proof shows that Manny is not effective going backwards, I say make him fight off the back foot.
