Robbi, is that Dejesus in that picture with Duran? Incredible picture..............As for Buchanan. I agree with Powerpuncher. This guy is a beloved figure. There's got to be a better way he could be making some money. As usual, boxing could do a better job of taking care of their own.

 

its ****ing insane is what it is. hes been sparing in a gym with some young lads. i couldnt spar some old man with alchohol problems, beating the **** outa him.

if it does happen he needs to go in against some white collar 50 yr old who has never boxed before

sad about buchanan i have so much respect for him, surely there's something people in the fraternity can do and what about his family?

 

Wasn't he a carpenter/ joiner after he retired? I'm sure I saw an interview with him 15 years or so ago and he was on a building site....

 

I think he worked as a joiner but injuries forced him to stop.

 

I echo all the sentiments so far that is sick and totally wrong and boxing should take of its own.

But be honest with yourselves if there was show up the road featuring Buchanan would you go?

I don't know why Ken is broke and, to be honest, I don't care. However, if some people can organise a charity show for Gerald McClellan, a complete and utter wanker outside of the ring and someone who gave nothing to British Boxing, then why aren't phones ringing at this very moment to oraganise something for someone who did?

They could have a dinner show with an auction and EASILY raise 50-60 k that might ease the burden...

 

A cynic would say that Kens announcement may be a little prod indirectly asking for a benifit gig....
