http://mmajunkie.com/news/23783/ex-...ergoes-surgery-expected-to-return-in-2012.mma Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar underwent surgery on Thursday to address a second bout with diverticulitis, and if all goes well, he could fight in 2012. UFC president Dana White today said that Lesnar had 12 inches of his colon removed in the procedure and is expected to spend the rest of 2011 in recovery. However, White hopes the former heavyweight champ will return next year. "He said he's a little sore, but the operation was a huge success," White said during the pay-per-view telecast of UFC 130, which took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Lesnar was forced to withdraw from a No. 1 contender bout with Junior Dos Santos at UFC 131 due to the intestinal illness. The two had served as opposing coaches on "The Ultimate Fighter 13," which finishes airing this coming week on Spike TV. The former champ was first stricken with diverticulitis in late 2009 and spent several months in recovery as his future in the sport hung in the balance. He recovered from the illness in early 2010 with lifestyle changes, but it again resurfaced this spring. Be good if he can make a comeback. But 12 inches is no joke. I know exactly what he's going through. Hopefully he'll be ok.
The way he keeps shrinking etc and now getting his ******* removed he wil be back as a middle weight.
I hope next time he comes back they give him a fight or two to get back into the swing and shake off the rust. Pitching a guy coming off a serious illness in against Carwin then Cain was borderline cruelty!! You need cage-time to get back to full sharpness after something like that. I'd much rather see Lesnar vs McCorkle than Lesnar vs Dos Santos next year.
I respect Brock, he has said in interviews, give me the best let's see how i do. We all know he is not the G.O.A.T but he is fun to watch. Good luck CHAMP
"The colon is also known as the large intestine. It is divided into four segments, totaling approximately 60 inches on average."
that is gonna be a war but you got to say that JDS beating the crap out off lesnar isnt to bad either :good
hahaha yea man, but i think JDS is going to get his head knocked off by shane carwin you cant mess with shane carwin's power in the 1st round i just hope shane prepare himself to go atleast 2 rounds just in case.
No wonder his mind was not on coaching during tuf. The guy deserves an apology. One of the worst things to be around when you are ill is arrogant fighters I should imagine.
