I am just wondering why excatly did he unretire. For one, he does not really have an intention to fight legitimate welterweights even when Mosley disrespected him in front of the whole world. His fans always contend that he unretired because he wants to fight Pac and that is why he fought the very much and older JMM to prepare him for Pac (which is also questionable because JMM does not exactly prepare you to fight Pac). On the other side of the coin, he might have unretired because of his IRS woes. Or, he might have unretired because he wants to further cement his legacy.
He had intentions of fighting Pac I think, then retire again because he'll probably be set for life financially then...maybe it's a good thing he's not fighting Pac yet, this way he may take more than just one fight before retiring again
So you would prefer he retire and not face Pac? Floyd didn't make any move to fight Mosley after the JMM fight for obvious reasons ( Pac ). Maybe the two will fight later down the road? Let's hope! Only Floyd truly knows why he came back to boxing.. I'm pretty sure you can find his answer somewhere on the internet from his mouth. Take it for what it is or leave it.
The answer is in his alia$ and its not "pretty". Floyd's plan all along has been, as always, to fight the lesser threats while still making money(a la Roy Jones).
Money! Pure and simple. Floyd is a high roller, he spends money faster than he makes it. After he settled with the IRS, he felt he needed to replenish. Yes it was for a nominal amount to him(5.7Mil I believe)but he was prolly like "Umm this 40mil left in the bank just will not do".
This is a questions on the opinions of ESBers. If you always believe what come out of the hrse's mouth, then you do not employ critical thinking, and your brain does not develop = dumb person. If you do not want the thread, don't post.
His retirement was never going to be permanent, he stated that he would not fight through 2008 and 2009 and already broke that promise. He was young and in his prime. He either was getting bored with it and needed a break or some time to let his hands heal fully which had been bothering him for a while. There are also the money problems and people calling Pac the best fighter out there so its inevitable that he will want to fight him. Plus he has been keeping in shape all along and loves boxing, its in his blood.
Just waiting for the great opportunity to fight Pac. Marquez calling him was the perfect timing. I really did not think he came back for Mosley, but he seems to have second thoughts of facing Pac now. His so-called retirement is BS.
1. He needed the loot. 2. He was tired of having to answer questions about Pacquiao and the p4P throne. http://www.***********.com/?m=show&id=17856 $6.1 million in back taxes, penalties and interest amounting to $500k per year backing out of an $8.5million deal to purchase real estate in FA $7.1million in jewelry being robbed from his home. (I wonder how good his home insurance policy is) I've actually never seen that qoute from Sr. "How can he tel all the people in Grand Rapids he's a billionaire? He won't be a billionaire in a billion years. Mark my words, someday he'll be running through the streets of Grand Rapids broke."
