$$$ wasn't someone in his family even stating this? didn't senior say he gavem about a year because his boy needed $? it's obvious not legacy
Personally...I believe it was an opportunity to make some "COLD HARD $$$". However...Mayweather probably saw the same thing I did. I give you and example and analogy that my 12 yr old nephew said. Imagine If you hooked up with TWO HOT CHICKS...One is a little older (But still hot) the other is just as hot. So you hook up...BLAH BLAH BLAH!! Two years later...some other guy (a chump), Hooks up with the same two chicks...All of a sudden HE'S CALLED THE BIGGEST "LADIES MAN" IN TOWN...THAT'S WHY FLOYD CAME BACK. He beats a TOP-SHELF 154LBS FIGHTER IN OSCAR, THEN AN UNDEFEATED HATTON...Then just under two years later, Pacquiao beats the same two fighters...Oscar, older and dehydrated, Hatton beaten and broken...ALL OF SUDDEN PACQUIAO IS AN ATG???? REALLY??? SERIOUSLY???-(
It is just some posters put a higher meaning to his unretiring, as if to prove that he is the greatest fighter ever or something. I always contended that May did not unretire because of any fighter, but because of his financial woes. The recession of the recent years has more to do with it than anyhting else I prrsume. There was a video of him saying that he invested heavily and is on the way to becoming a billionaire. When he mentioned "invested", I presumed it was those high risk, high returen investment in the stock exchange that collapse recently with the global economic crunch. There is a big implication of he unretired because of financial woes because he will try to "milk" the public by fighting less risk, therefore having more fights, and more money, like a Mayweather-Hoya rematch. However, if there is a really higher calling in his unretirement, then it would be good for boxing because finally, we will see him fight a legitimate Welterweight.
Money, money, money, money, moneeeeeeyyyeeeeee. Million dollar man ted debiase should give his entrance music to floyd.
well you got to understand why he really 'retired' in the first place - to duck the cotoo-margarito winner. when that worked itself out floyd decided it was the right time to come back, GB gave him the perfect handpick in Marquez. he never ever said he wanted pacquiao though it was widely assumed he did want that fight. floyd probably knew pac was his kryptonite even before cotto, then after seeing how pac killed cotto - he just freaked out. ever since cotto got whiped out, floyd has been acting strange. so basically he never really did retire or unretire he just used it as a way to duck cotoo and margarito. just like he's using steroids to duck pac now. that's the way i honestly see it, nuthugger tendencies aside.
Legacy? Hell no.. Almost broke and owing millions to the IRS? Hell yeah.. Floyd "retired" because he thought he could make money outside of boxing, i.e. wrestling, endorsements, etc, and of course that the welterweight division was stacked full of threats. But being the dumbass he is, it appears instead of investing his millions to ensure that he didnt have to fight again, he lived his flashy ni#$&r rich lifestyle, if you have millions why would you have to finance a Maybach and pay all the interest and finance charges? I think I read somewhere that his house isnt paid for either like he bragged on 24/7.
He was running out of money plain and simple... The guy spends money like water, and when his fighting days are over, will probaly end up broke...
