I'm just thinking about Khan's upcoming bout against Maidana.

I guess a few of Wlad's defences would count, maybe Peter, although Wlad's chin is way better than Khan's in a P4P sense and Maidana hits harder than Peter in a P4P sense too.

So, give me some examples of a clearly Glass Jawed fighter beating a legitimate power puncher, because I just cannot see how Khan beats Maidana.

    Tyson v Williams

    Just joking

Khan will box circles round Maidana but if Maidana connects with just one bomb Khan will look like he does on your avvy again for sure

I always thought Peter's power was way overrated. His best KO is Oleg Maskaev. He could not KO any of the upper tier fighters he fought. All his KO's were against Class C and D opposition.

    Lewis over Tua

Lewis was not exactly a glass jaw but Tua was definitely a KO threat

Also, do you not think you are judging Khan a little bit harshly for 1 fight?

I don't see how he does either.

He SHOULD be able to box circles around the man, but he's going to get clipped in the fight, and when he does, it won't be good.

He wins by tucking in his chin, keeping a tight guard and moving away from his punches. Maidana is too sloppy a fighter. Only reason he beat somebody like Ortiz was because he traded punches with him.

I'm actually on the other side of the spectrum, I cannot see anyway Maidana can win this fight. Khan has underated power and will land almost at will. Give it a couple of rounds and Maidana will lose power and will get terribly outboxed and countered.

We had a great example in Australia back in 2006, when Mundine (glass jaw, but very skillful) dominated the power-punching brawler Danny Green.

    Khan by TKO round 10.

This is how it will sound when Maidana lands a flush shot on Khans chin:

What do you mean Lewis didn't 'exactly' have a glass jaw?

Lewis had a decent chin and should not be mentioned in the same sentence as 'glass jaw'.

I'm not sure if I'd use Lewis as an example. His whole "glass jaw" is just a myth. Rahman is heavy handed even to this day and McCall also had underrated power.

Glass chins or even questionable chins wouldn't have hold up against the below:

I can't see Khan losing this one. I realize his chin, at least seems, to not be the best, but he is a way more talented boxer then Maidana. He will box circles around him and win a clear UD. If Maidana lands then yes its lights out, but I doubt highly that he will...

Peter landed a good shot on Wlad in the first round that caused only low glass vibes and a small panic attack..
on the other hand he obviously damaged Toney

    :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

Spin it any way you like, Lewis is still the ONLY top level HW champ taken out TWICE in the early rounds when he held the title. The only one. Maybe his chin isn't pure china, but it sure isn't rock solid either.
