Examples of a smaller boxer beating a bigger puncher?

    As in smaller man outboxes and befuddles a massive puncher from a high weight divisions, who due to weight and power should have crushed the smaller guy. I know there have been plenty of smaller guys upsetting the odds but looking for this dynamic specifically please.

    Ezzard Charles beating Joe Louis came to mind immediately. Some performance that was, even if Joe Louis was a bit faded by then.

    Percy Bassett, a 5'5" featherweight was prone to venture up and take on some noted boys at 135. The little guy managed wins over guys like Jimmy Carter, Lew Jenkins and Orlando Zulueta (although Zulueta wasn't a noted banger).

    Jones Jr vs Ruiz might loosely fit. Ruiz wobbled Jones in round 1 with some not so spectacular clubbing punches - so at least relative to Jones, the bigger Ruiz was a sort of power hitter that Jones had to avoid, which Roy basically did thereafter - though Ruiz’s failure to pull the trigger for the better part of the fight contributed to Jones’ path to victory imo.

    Henry Armstrong beating the heck out of Barney Ross.

    Armstrong was a 5 ft 5+1⁄2 in (166 cm) natural featherweight champion going against Ross, a 5 ft 7 in (1.70 m) welterweight champion.

    It was a typical "The small Champion vs The big Champion" bout.

    It is said that Ross went suddenly shot in the middle of the fight and was unable to defend himself from Hank's relentless pounding. Ross's cornermen and the referee wanted to stop the fight, but Ross was adamant he would go the distance and retire as a champion who was never KOd.

    Tough as nails my man, Barney.
