Jeff Lacy. I know people like to say he was “exposed” but I always felt like Joe snatched his will and he was never the same. Not because he was exposed but because he was beaten so badly, and his corner should have stopped it earlier.

He totally ruined his left shoulder. His whole style depended on the left hook. That was an enormous problem for him and occurred after Calzaghe.

Foreman sure wasn't the same after Ali.
Coetzee getting bombed out by Weaver sure did not help his career any. He came back some, but kind of like Bruno when he got blasted by Smith. Time for some selective matchmaking.
Bowe losing that 2nd fight to Evander. No more A game for Riddick and his B game wasn't close to his A game.

    Duran/Moore
    Chavez/Taylor
    Lacy/Calzaghe
Toney/Tiberi for different reasons than the rest.

Some perhaps need to read the thread title: Young, promising career...

Not established world class fighter, suffering a bad/never the same after defeat.
