When Don King ruled the world he could really put on a show. On the night Larry Holmes fought Oliver McCall for the WBC heavyweight crown, the undercard was amazing. It had actual heavyweights Tony Tucker, Bruce Seldon, Frans Botha and Henry Akinwande, as well as fistic heavyweights, Julio Cesar Chavez, Terry Norris, Felix Trinidad, Nana Yaw Konadu and Tim Austin.

What a fantastic night of boxing!

Mike Tyson's comeback fight vs. Peter McNeeley was officially on the undercard (labeled a "Special Attraction") of the Julian Jackson-Quincy Taylor WBC Middleweight fight.

Although, for all intents and purposes, the Tyson fight was the main event. He was the guy featured on the poster and the reason why everyone came out.

The Jackson-Taylor fight did take place immediately following the Tyson fight, however. Even though most of the audience had begun filing out.

George Foreman-Rodriquez was listed as a Co-Main Event, but it did take place on the undercard of Tyson-Tillman.

Evander Holyfield's fight with Larry Donald was buried on the undercard (four fights deep) of the John Ruiz-Andrew Golota fight. Evander had only won 2 of his last 8 fights going in and had his boxing license revoked after the one-sided loss to Donald.

As was mentioned before, Tyson Fury fought on the undercard of a Maurice Hooker fight when Fury fought Seferi. That should've been labeled an exhibition, however. Too much laughing and kissing and Seferi just stopped halfway through on cue. And I believe Fury also fought on the undercard of a Carl Frampton title fight when he faced Francesco Pianeta the bout after that.

Ken Norton, who is in the Hall of Fame, fought Randy Stephens on the Larry Holmes-Alfredo Evangelista undercard (in Ken's comeback fight after losing to Holmes), and he also fought Shavers on the undercard of Holmes-Ocasio.

Funny how different things seem at the time compared to in retrospect.

Did Holmes himself ever fight on an undercard?

Not after he beat Ken Norton.

His last undercard fight was on the Norton-Young show in November 1977. He fought Ibar Arrington in the off-TV portion. In his next fight, he faced Norton for the title. And he never fought on an undercard again.

Yea this seems right, I went and checked as well thinking maybe one of his fights post Tyson was on some undercard somewhere but it doesn't look like it. I had thought that maybe Holmes was a co-support or undercard to a good TNF but i don't think so.

Larry the legend Donald fought Evander Holyfield on a undercard. Donald was a legend in his own right, dancing on his toes like Muhammad Ali did to a certain extent, a poor man's version, you get the point. Also hasim Rahman fought Kali Meehan on the don King heavyweight night and showcased some new wrinkles in his game ie jabbing while in close quarters, I believe he stopped Meehan and holy got decisioned by Donald.
