Many people are calling moving backwards "running", but what are the real examples of a boxer literally running around the ring in the fight? Not for 10-20 seconds after being hurt, but using a running as a part of his strategy like Morad Hakkar did against Bernard Hopkins?
I could be wrong, been awhile since I seen it, but I remember the last round of Mayweather vs Maidana 2 being pretty bad with Floyds literal retreating.
running to me is more than backing up all the time. if your main objective is to prevent any punches from being thrown, from either side, then you are running. if you are just leading the man, so you can catch him stepping in, then more power to you. im knowledgeable enough to tell the difference in the 2.
Amir Khan is the worst example of this. He gives too much ground and ends up running.Championship rounds v Peterson,Maidana and Diaz to name a few.
Yeh i dno why but in his last few fights hed just laugh and run for the 12th round. He did it v canelo, pac i think and berto
Floyd Pac. Floyd was running and grabbing so much his daddy had to tell him off for it. Last 3 rounds changed though, he just outboxed Pac even coming forward at times.
Floyd Mayweather- Mr "I fight in the pocket". Just ask your self if Floyd fought a carbon copy of himself, what would that fight look like? Would any punches be thrown? Floyd vs Sweetpea, now theres a fight...
virgil hill v aslan have a watch of round 1 if you can find it on you tube never seen anything like it if it was a 1500m race he would have been in the lead
