with some of you guys carrying on like UK is squeaky clean and places like Germany, Spain and Italy are a disgrace, lets bring some perspective to this and highlight the number of times the UK has been guilty.

How about the time Chi was announced as the winner against Brodie, only for some bull**** countback and later announced a draw?

How about Glen Johnson in his first fight with Woods?

    Hatton-Tszyu
    Hatton-Lazcano

I've still not seen it but I remember many saying Polo got robbed against Scott Harrison.
    any more?

don't get me wrong, the Williams fight at the weekend was the most ridiculous i've seen and that promoter needs banning, but lets not pretend it's a level playing field in all UK fights.

I know you dislike Hatton, and so do I, vehemently, but to call Laczano a shafting is a bit of a joke buddy. Hatton clearly won.

Also, like it or not, Hatton beat Tszyu to a pulp. The ref may have let him off with a few things, but this is boxing, it happens all the time. It is a fight after all.

If thats the only evidence you've got then its a poor argument, Hattons last fight was nowhere near a shafting.

he clearly won but that doesn't tell the whole story and what went on in that 10th round in particular.

what a lot of people seem to forget is that Hatton-Tszyu was very close going into the 12th, so it's stretching it to say 'beat him to a pulp'.....my point was the ****ing ref and the cheating that went on.

anyway, this was not a smokescreen thread to have a go at Hatton again, so lets not go on and on about just those 2 fights PLEASE.

It didn't go into the 12th, because one fighter felt unable to fight another three minutes. When that fighter is a long standing champion, then I think it's fair to characterise that as a good beating.

Sorry, but when you try to construct an argument about foreign fighters getting a raw deal in the UK and then can only give four examples, one of which is Hatton v Lazcano :)lol:), it's not exactly the most solid evidence around.

OK....i'll name some more then for the sake of discussion. I was hoping some others might bring some up.

    Benn-McClellan
    Eubank-Sherry
    Harrison-Bonin
    Froch-Tatevosyan
    Calzaghe-Manfredo

that's a few more off the top of my head.

on Tszyu-Hatton, lets face it everyone wa stunned when the guy quit....both of them were roughed up in a close fight and full of Hatton fouls that the ref didn't call. He was just old and knackered i'm afraid.

by the way I'm not saying these were all cast iron robberies, I'm just saying they were all fights in the UK where there was claims of hometown bias.

I too thought Bradley was far to close to getting shafted.

Everywhere in the world gives hometown decisions and I don't think the U.K are so bad.

 How dare you say Tszyu was old and knackered. He was p4p top5 at the time and most certainly in his prime.

(Thats what the Hatton huggers are going to say)

But still he retired afterwards, he should have carried on and made the most of his prime years.

Off the top of my head I can't think of an out and out robbery, just some dubious decisions.

Are you saying that wasn't the consensus opinion prior to the fight?

You're just listing fights now. Can't remember anything from the ref from Benn - McLellan. Eubank - Sherry had an American referee. Tatevoysan and Manfredo were both getting outclassed, just a case of the referee picking a moment to stop it. Bonin looked like he didn't want to fight on and got stopped, mistake on his part.

Yes Tszyu mentioned retirement after the second Mitchell fight but we can gloss over that.

People at ringside apparently helped Benn get back in the ring.

, I think it started because Gary Newbon (the fat chap who used to cover events for ITV Sport) said him and his fellow journalists helped/pushed Benn back into the ring after McLellan knocked him down.
