Examples of foreign fighters getting shafted in the UK

    Aye, it works both ways too. Benn was pretty much sitting on one of the ropes whilst getting a clobbering instead of the ref pulling GM away and giving Benn a count. The ref did separate them unnecessarily when Benn was hurt and appeared to keep GM off him for some time. Then again, other times the ref would separate them and stop Benn from holding and let them fight right away, which should be to GM's advantage. At the end of the day, there was some **** reffing and Benn took GM's best shots.

    no, the purpose of this thread is not to have a go at Hatton. If a couple of his fights have involved home cooking them so be it. It's not ike it's just me saying the Tszyu fight was a farce, or that the 10th round of the Lazcano fight was smelly.
    I made this thread in response to all the shite places like Germany and Italy have been getting for dodgy goings on, when in the UK there have been plenty of cases of home cooking as well. Don't kid yourselves.

    Your list to kick things off is appalling, outright appalling, and is basically a mixture of sensible early stoppages and tough fights where six of one half a dozen of the other was the order of the day.

    And you've gone back twenty years to find the examples.

    I think the Lazcano-hatton fight is going to be one of those things thats going to grow and grow, in a couple of years "certain" people will be saying Hatton was semi-concious, groping around on the floor for his mouthpiece while begging the ref to halt the fight so he could take a breather.

    Neither Hatton-Lazcano or JC-Manfredo were shaft jobs and Hatton-Zoo was 6 of one, half a dozen of the other.

    I'm sure BHop was high in the Ring rankings when Calzaghe beat him.

    Please correct me if I'm wrong but aren't you one of those who downplay Calzaghe's win against Hopkins because of Hopkins age?

    Forgive me if I'm wrong but wasn't Tszyu nearly a decade younger then the Bernard Hopkins Calzaghe fought.

    No. But Hatton was a decade younger than Tszyu.

    By your answer I take it you are one of those that downplay Calzaghe's victory, but when the Ring ratings suit your argument they are credible then.

    Hopkins was 43 years old, Tszyu was 34, thats a huge difference in age, in boxing terms.
