Robert Quiroga-Kid Akeem is the best “bang for your buck” PPV main event ever. It was a cheap price. James Toney-Mike McCallum 1 was a good price if I remember correctly too. For the whole fight cards, Don King had some great PPVs, the night of the rematches, and also later that year Chavez-Taylor 2 had a terrific undercard. Trinidad-Vargas, Cotto-Margarito 1, Pacquiao-Marquez 4 were all classic fights. Pacquiao-Marquez 2, Barrera-Marquez, Morales-Barrera 3, Mosley-De La Hoya 1, De La Hoya-Vargas were all very good fights too. Bowe-Golota 2 may have ended in disappointing fashion, but it was a brutal and crazy fight. Although one-sided, Bowe still had his moments too and dropped and hurt Golota. All 3 Bowe-Holyfield fights were excellent, particularly the first for action, and the 2nd for closeness and a “WTF!?” moment.
Hagler vs Hearns, some PPV, but mostly closed circuit: "Re: Hagler vs SRL, Radio City Music Hall sold 6,000 seats at $60… Indications are that two million closed-circuit seats will be filled, and 700,000 homes will buy the bout on a pay-per-view basis, Arum said. By comparison, when Hagler-Hearns took place in 1985, about 700,000 closed- circuit seats were sold, and about 100,000 homes bought it as pay-per-view.” https://www.f4wonline.com/news/how-hagler-leonard-superfight-changed-combat-sports-landscape-233386 https://www.nytimes.com/1985/04/09/sports/tv-sports-bonanza-from-hagler-hearns.html
