Botha got KTFO several times though... i do not think he was good chinned. He did always come short vs good punchers though... Lewis, Wlad, Moorer and Tyson... but this trend continued when he went to K1 and got blasted by single shots.
Doug DeWitt, who took the best shots of Thomas Hearns, who MUST have been trying to take him out, only to be coldcocked by Jose Quinones and Sumbu Kalambay, and later, of course, to Nigel Benn. His chin was never the same, IMO after the loss to Hearns. I think it could take only so much.
Not really.. Lewis ****ed Botha up pretty good too, but like I said.. Tyson blitz'd his ass for the full count with a single shot.
Prety much any Tyson loss you can name. The guy's chin wasn't completely impenetrable, but it was prety damn good and sturdy. And it usually took one hell of a beating to take him out.
nunn-kalambay - kalambay had a sound chin. if they fought 50 times i doubt that would happen again tbh. atsch
Duran has an iron chin it's just that Tommy landed a really vicious timed punch flush and Duran didn't see it coming at all. The first knockdown was the same, a straight right that Duran didn't see coming just got him.
roy jones-merqui sosa and vince pettway-simon brown are the first two that come to mind. sosa had just been voted by the ring magazine as having the best chin in boxing right before he fought jones and was taken out in the second round. and anyone who saw pettway's KO of the usually iron chinned brown knows how creepy that was.
