Can you think of any examples of fights that ended in decisions where all three judges scored the fight as a draw?
Canadian Contender of the 20s & 30s had at least 29 of them(?). there is an old trick in Boxing, it can't work so much today, most fighters don't fight enough or meet the True Topmen anyway. but that is, "Let Contenders 'nullify' each other", by repeat contests and 'if' a stronger fighter, whom they are trying to reduce out of the scene, appears to be winning, well declare the Fight a DRAW! less obvious than a Blatant Robbery and just as effective in Credibility Reduction. Vic Foley suffered 29 Draws, at least a few will have been dubious.
There are loads of 4 and 6 round fights that ends in a unanimous draw. Especially in Mexico, this seems to be a pretty regular occurrence. Also, in Tbilisi, Georgia a few months ago, there was a card with no less than 3 fights ending in unanimous draws: BoxRec: Event
Do you have a computer hooked up to your brain? You always have the most encyclopaedic trivia I've seen on Boxing.
I 'm not quite sure why... but I've always been interested in numbers and statistics. I spend a lot of time going through records on BoxRec, on the lookout for strange/weird/interesting things, which I then make a mental note of. As for being hooked up to a computer... that is a question you should ask of Henry Hascup, whose trivia knowledge far, FAR exceedes my own!
Chris John vs Rocky Juarez 1 had all 3 official judges score 114-114. https://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Chris_John_vs._Rocky_Juarez_(1st_meeting)
I know. I answered reading only the title of the thread. In fact to me those fights of Lewis were "pure draws". Lol
Hascup needs to write even more of this down, or else when he is gone (a long time in the future), a lot of his knowledge will be lost to all!
