Examples Of When Handpicking An Opponent Backfired?

    What are some examples of fighters handpicking opponents and it backfiring on them?

    One that comes to mind was Roy Jones Jr. handpicking Glen Johnson thinking he could pick up a trinket belt at Light Heavyweight. What happened? Jones got his Glass Jaw shattered in savage and embarrassing fashion by feather fisted Glen Johnson.

    This has me thinking about the upcoming Malignaggi/Khan fight. Khan's management will not let him any where near someone that has even a mediocre KO rate. Thay are handpicking the feather fisted Malignaggi in a disgraceful fight considering what other fights are out there for Khan.

    Could it backfire? Could we have another episode of 'Shattered Glass'?

    don't forget that Khan's management wanted to put him in against Marquez who is far from featherfisted. KTFO Diaz and Casa who are both tough as nails.

    that would certainly qualify and that is why Khan is in the situation he is in right now. He refused to fight a puncher. :good

    those fights dont qualify have you seen tyson narrorated documentry he faught for purely money no intention to fight on unless those guys laid down tyson done at that point

    If Khan gets brutally KOed by Mallinaggi then that has to be the end of his career. Lewis Rahman is my example.

    i dont consider those handpicked, he was already done as a top level fighter and was already coming of losses.
