Excellent boxers with a single glaring liability (one terrible attribute)

Danny Garcia - No body defense... never defends his gut, never moves his head. He's been jabbed and punched in the gut so much and he doesn't do **** about it. His head movement is poor too. If you don't stand right in front of him, he looks bad. Hell his defense in general is **** poor. Not sure he qualifies as an "excellent" boxer though :yep

Canelo Alvarez - Loads up too much on his punches, costing him stamina. Every punch he throws is thrown with intentions to KO you.

Abner Mares - After watching his last fight, and I know he isn't always this reckless but, he was reckless. He stood and traded too much, which brings me to...

Timothy Bradley - Great when he boxes, but he always gets suckered into a firefight. Could've made his tougher fighters and losses into easier fights and/or victories.

I feel like I'm being too vague, it's tough to pinpoint off the top of my head without seeing a recent example.

This will be an unpopular one but I think Lomachenko doesn't handle pressure well, he retreats back without countering and then has to reset himself.

Lomachenko also doesn't have an inside game.

Danny is a mess, Alex. :good

Yes somehow, it all works out to him winning (and only rarely due to dodgy scorecards).

His resume belies the logical conclusion that he's too flawed in too many categories to be elite. He somehow just is. :blood

Yeah, definitely. Vasyl is learning on the job. Nobody ever threw Salido-type pressure at him with headgear or in WSB.

However, I think Lomachenko has improved since his debut.

I think his combinations are more fluid.

I think Rod Salka vs. Shane Mosley in sparring would be one-sided in Salka's favor if they prearranged to have it just be a jab-spar. I'm not even kidding. Anybody care to challenge that statement?

Pacquiao has a more or less non existent inside game (most of the time he doesn't need it, look how he dealt with Hatton, Floyd had to show how crafty he is there against Ricky and it was compelling to watch), he stares blankly at the referee and waits to be separated. It wouldn't have hurt him to be taught a thing or two by Roach.

TBH, I'm not sure I'd agree with that, in fact I'll disagree.

Yea his in-fighting is pretty weak, but he hasn't needed it much.

Golovkin- poor head movement (though still better than a few years back)

    Wlad- non-existant inside game

Hopkins went from being a master feinter in his prime to forgetting that less is more and becoming overly reliant on feint even when they didn't work on someone.

If you watch Wlads earlier fights he has a better inside game, while not great it still was existent. Steward build him from the ground up, changed his DNA as a fighter...

Vitali. Physically frailer than his brother... A big part of why his little bro will go down in history as the superior fighter.

One weakness that I notice sometimes is pressure fighters that don't know how or when to take a step back, someone like Kovalev is excellent at this, he always keeps his opponent at that perfect range but other fighters for some reason don't take that step back and they end up "smothering" their own work so to speak.
