Major props to Williams & Martinez. Very close , one judge was stoned but what a great fight.

I was sure there would be the regular "He was robbed stuff............." but it was close & I'm just looking forward to the rematch myself.

Neither fighter deserved to lose, that should have been a draw as one judge had it.

    Or 7-5 to Martinez.

7-5 to Williams would have been slightly rankling but not riot-worthy.

Regardless, it was a terrific battle, and FOTY kept flashing through my head the whole time watching it...of course, usually when that happens you have to wait and distance yourself a bit to get some perspective and remember everything else the year's had to offer...:yep

Agreed. I dont know why people talk **** after a fight so spectacular like the one we just witnessed. Although I was pulling on Martinez to win, I had Williams up by one he pulled it out in the last round when Martinez began to tire out and retreat. FOTY for me

for me although the skills were top notch and the some of the punches were spectacular, what was awesome was the way both guys kept trying to get ahead, willing themselves forwards. great intensity. like two track athletes exchanging the lead for the last lap until the finish. it was a real close one and i thought martinez nicked it

It was truly an incredible fight. It had me on the edge of my seat. Each fighter had their moment and each showed incredible heart when faced with danger. I was never really a Paul Williams fan but I became one last night as he showed he has great heart. As for Martinez, I was already a fan of his. Both fighters took huge shots and they never gave in. I have all my respect to both fighters. Incredible!

Please don't put Dirrell in with the others who actually did the work necessary to earn the victory...even if Dirrell was less **** than Froch he was still ****, and on the ten-point must system that "boxing match" was a lot closer and more muddled than the rest of these ought to have been.

I think It would be FOTY. The adjustment each fighter was making and what the other was doing to counter was great!

I can't remember the last fight where I was literally on the edge of my seat. Tremendous.

needs to be a rematch at 154 for Sergio's title.

Oh btw, I had Martinez winning...and anyone who thinks Dirrell deserves to be mentioned with Sergio Martinez needs to have their heads examined.

How is it a robbery if it's a close fight? :huh

Dirrell was robbed against Froch though, that was shameful.
