Ive just reviewed this fight, and I tell ya what....... This kid has grown leaps and bounds since the headgears come off. Yeah.....I know, I know. He's fighting Paul Butlin ffs, but tell me another guy since Wladimir Klitschko who has come out the gates with the poise and fluidity of a seasoned vet, while maintaining an amazing arsenal or measured shots and laser guided precision. Im not gonna go all out and claim he's the next big HW like I did when Helenius was 13-0 or something, but I will say that Im gonna put a stake on this kid to take over for Wlad. Him and the Fury's and maybe Wilder, Jennings, Mago, and Tereshkin, Martz, Benajaru and Altunkaya all seem poised to become solid HW contenders and titlists in the next 18 mos, and a new and possibly improved HW division should emerge from this young crop. On a side note..... I know Mago and Benajaru and up there at 31 and 29, and Wilder and Jennings aint exactly kids themselves, but all are young in general when we're talking heavies, a division which boast several 40 y/o+++ top 100 ATGs, and dozens of solid contenders thru the yrs over 40 y/o.:good:good:good
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quJCCLF5q1E 5:51 Here's a youtube of the fight. The way this kid turns his jab into a hook is very similar to the one Wlad was using regular going into the Mercer fight. A hook jab that Wlad has KOd guys with, and a hook jab that Joshua seems to do even better than Wlad as evidenced by the amazing set up for this KO.thumbsup
He looked good out there and it seems he already has another 2 or 3 fights lined up for the rest of the year. That would be 5 fights in 2 months, thats a great start.
Lot's of great fights coming from these kids that for sure. Still wanna see this eras guys make an impact, ie Helenius, Wach, Haye, Solis, Potvetkin, Welliver, Arreola, Boystov etc, but the futures looking real bright adding that crop of newcomers to the already solid mix.:deal
Throw in the Fury's and Tereshkin and Martz....maybe Jennings......several big fights could come from these kids. Sh!t.....I forgot the chubby chicano.....the fastest hands in the division. Andy Ruiz Jr.......man.......this sh!ts bout to be going down.:deal
I heard his a good dancer too I can run 100 in less than 11 secs. Im sure he was much smaller when he could run that fast! I do track, its no joke
hugey fury looks much more natural and more fluid ,not as mechanical and he's younger. Josua is big and athletic ,but other than that he's flat footed, telegraphs his punches , no defense. I just don't see it.
Yeah, Joshuas being moved well. Quickly and in fights he can showcase his talents while at the same time, sharpening his punches and working on a bit of D. Baby Huey is moving well to. 11 fights and 2 more scheduled and he's only been at it less than a yr. Im really liking these guys who are getting in the ring and staying in the gym until they do so. I hope K2 can get Tereshkin some fights. Get him going again. Activity is definitely necessary to help develop these kids confidence and to keep them focused on achieving.:thumbsup
Seriously.....:huh:huh:huh On which board????:nono Ive been on here pretty regular since 2010 and Ive seen maybe 6 threads about him...... And tbh.....I was really just voicing my anticipation of the health of the division in general when it comes to potential.....and Joshua is certainly one of the best irt potential.
I agree its nice to see some of the young guys being active. Fury could have 13 fights this year if his schedule holds. Thats impressive and nice to see. Fury's young and no need to rush but a small step up soon wouldn't be bad.
