I still remember watching Calzaghe vs Lacy live and it was about as one-sided as it gets without stoppage or towel being thrown in, and it was hugely exciting to me due to the sheer amount of sharp pundits and media folks who were not only expecting Joe to lose, but to lose badly in a one-sided KO by Lacy. I still wonder what Jeff might have went on to do / achieve if he had never come to Manchester that night!
I was to say that and Mayweather - Corrales. Kinda beatiful to watch the mastery on display in those.
Always enjoy watching pac vs Margarito. Pac was on fire that night and Margarito impressed me the way he hung in there despite the eye injury. He even hurt pac at one point against the ropes with a painful looking body shot. Not sure it counts as completely one sided but Marquez vs Katsidis is a great one to rewatch as well. Got to see all of marquezs skills and powers of recovery in that fight.
Katsidis was game but besides the knockdown the fight was pretty one sided for the most part. The combinations that JMM unleashed on Katsidis throughout was a sight to behold, just a fluid puncher. One of my favorite JMM fights to watch. Hard to believe that he was 37 at that time.
No one's gonna say this but Mormeck vs. Wayne Braithwaite. Mormeck just pummeled him but that was still a great fight. Shocked he didn't stop him.
Thanks, I just watched in full for the first time. Calzaghe was brilliant indeed. Never cared for him much back then as he wouldn't produce solid KO's but now paying close attention, hats off. The was he saw the situation in the ring, positioned himself, anticipated Lacy's moves, picked his punches throwing them in a broken rythm, from brilliant angles... A masterpiece.
