Why Isn't It In Manchester Instead of Wigan, an all Manchester showdown for the British title for Wigan don't sound right.

    Enjoyed reading the interview. :good

Would have liked Murray to shed a bit more light on his performance against the mexican Munguia. My expectations were higher, particularly on the back of the Hickman fight. The only explanation I could really come up with was that it was his second fight in a month. Can appreciate fighting in Vegas is a great opportunity for a young boxer but I wonder if he regretted taking it in hindsight. Yes he got the win but the performance seemed to do more damage than good perhaps. Certainly generated quite a bit of criticism on here. Very unfortunate to get Al Hamidi as a last minute stand in after that one!

I hope and think Murray will win the British Title but win or lose, more than anything I'd just like to see him put in a great performance against Meager.

Look forward to seeing your Joe Gallagher interview. :good

Read the Matthew Sanderson one on BBN but Munguia fight only briefly mentioned. Do take your point about the ITV highlights - have to confess I've not seen that particular fight in full myself. Was just curious as I think having two questionable back to back performances is what has led to a lot of criticism rather than just the Al Hamidi one where I accept a lot of the factors given with Fewkes pulling out late, etc, etc.

Anyway - all very well pleasing his female Facebook friends (I'm not one of them by the way) but I do wish Murray would just concentrate on pleasing us boxing fans! He really NEEDS to shine against Meager.

I gathered that there were a few problems heading into the Munguia fight. Think I recall John saying to me that he wasn't so fresh when he got off the plane, maybe jetlagged. John and Joe hadn't had a real chance to study Munguia. Very little video on him til the last minute (so to speak). Don't think they're willing to take the late notice jobs any more now. And also, there was a problem during the fight - that Munguia was able to get away with ducking very low, using his head/elbows, whereas Murray got admonished by the ref for pushing down on Munguia. A day later some would say hatton got a raw deal with a different ref in Vegas - Joe Cortez.

Real shame that Murray ended up fighting another good/tough spoiler in his next fight, Hamidi. JM was hammering guys like this before, such as Ramogoadi and Johnny Walker.

Anyway, hopefully the preparation has been going well & that Murray proves how good he is.

Will be hilarious to see some of the more dismissive posters change their minds from 1 extreme to the next.

Thanks for the link Terry - see your charm and persuasion granted you an exclusive interview in the end! Really enjoyed reading it as I know little about Gallagher - he is clearly very dedicated and not one to hog the limelight. I'll be pleased for him if the Murray brothers are successful this year. :good
