If it falls through you are looking at lost money for all the previous litigation, advertising, lost money from sending reporters running around after Khan in LA, The Phillipines etc. building up a fight even at this stage won't come cheap. Don't get me wrong at this stage I don't see it falling through but there is definitely an element of danger and we already know that Khan's team are incompetent as **** so you never know, they may make a rash decision.
Sorry if this has been posted in this thread but it is reported over on the Scene that Khan stands to lose a million quid because SKY aren't showing it on Box Office.
I agree but personally I would be disappointed if it got below 250,000 and I think it could get 300,000+ considering that not only is this World Class Boxing but Khan is possibly the biggest name fighter to appear on Regular Sky Boxing on peaktime in years.
Khan has a history of terrible ppv events that and not being able to sell tickets in manchester comes as no surprise. I bet if the fight was in Bradford it would sell out.
Khan is not going to back out of the bout. If it was 8 weeks ago and this happened it would probably have been called off, but not at this stage
Khan may break with SKY after this fight and come to ITV he used to get 5 million viewers for his fights.
Screw Khan losing a million. Its McCloskey I feel sorry for. negotiations were called off when he was getting low balled the first time and it was team McCloskey that came up with the innovative package to boost it (led to believe it had something to do with Irish PPV sales?). Now that has gone. more than ever I hope McCloskey smashes his face in and gets a nice rematch on decent terms.
:deal No one talking about this. Pisspoor job from them. Can hardly blame on Rahman as only arranged that fight in desperation a week ago. Had months to get this together. That said I imagine very low numbers buying would have had more to do with this than the fight dropping out. PR wise its better for Sky to send the message that they're being hardarse on promoter rather than no one being interested in main event as PPV.
they rushed khan onto ppv. one of the reasons naseem hamed used to be so popular was because the british public got to see A LOT of him, he appeared on terrestrial tv for a while and then free sky sports.
The real culprits are Hatton Promotions.Putting on a **** undercard and attempting to sell this crap is ridiculous.Ricky must be spending too much time in the pubs again.atsch
