Good read that mate. Thanks :good Keep up the good work with the site. Nice to see one dedicated to our talented crop of local boxers!
When Elcock pulled out of the Barker fight I really wanted to see Murray step in. That would have been a great fight!
It probably would have been, but too early for Murray - needs to get in some 10-12 rounders before he takes that step up to domestic honours. Still, I like him - got a good pressure style and can thump to the body, I hope he does well and he will certainly be in some great fights in the near future. :yep:good
He has been fighting bums and backyardigans for years now. The lad has a little talent and should be in the mix for domestic belts but has done nothing since his prizefighter win.
what pro boxer ever seems something as a step to far. bellew would fight chad dawson next week if he could
Maybe but there are also fighters who want too pace themselves and do things the right way! I mean David price isn't gonna go 'right it's my 4th fight, put me in with Vitali Klitchko', is he?
I can see why he didn't take the Barker fight. Barker is a very good fighter, it doesn't take a genius to work that out. It doesn't mean he doesn't fancy the fight, it could just be the case he didn't feel prepared for a 12 round fight against a high class opponent on very short notice when mentally and physically he's prepared for a bum. Sensible career move, we all know what a loss does to people around here...
His last opponent was pretty decent and gave Thhim a tough fight over 8. The good thing about Hatton is that he keeps his fighters busy and has an interesting way of matching his fighters up, I expect to see 1 more step up fight against a decent opponent and then a British Title eliminator against the winner of Renda-Samuels II.
Good post and more or less my thoughts. He was tied into the Hatton thing as well. Wasn't having a pop at him. Was saying that perhaps he 's pacing his career so that he achieves the maximum. Nothing wrong with that. Worked for Lennox
