tell me about it....I heard Many more excuses coming from the men he BEAT one or two times. JMM, EM and MAB all had their excuses handy after being pulled up from the canvas or hearing a Decisions win at the end of the fight.

It does not matter who Pac beats they will belittle his choice of opponent. He tore through 126 / 130 but now detractors will tell you that was a weak run. Absurd. It will be the same thing if he manages to do it at 135.

Before Pac did what he did, you would have been laughed off the forums if you said he was going to defeat Morales, Barrera and Marquez, each twice.
Now that he has done it, the only thing they can do is attempt to diminish its significance. But if he hadn't chosen those opponents he would have been accused of avoiding them.

If Pac takes out Soto, followed by Valero, than Campbell, Guzman, Casa, Kats and Hatton, he will STILL be belittled by the same ones that do it now.

It does not matter what he does because his detractors resent him for various reasons. His race, his humility, his dominance of their heroes, his deficiencies as a boxer - although the last one is often more of a veil for their cruder forms of antipathy which they are somewhat ashamed of, so they try to buffer it with more politically correct reasons.

I personally would like to see the Soto fight, because Soto is a tough customer and Guz won, but didn't really do much vs Soto. Pac vs Soto will be a real fight and Pac has an opportunity to hand Soto his first real ass kicking since Soto has gotten it together and gone on his winning streak.

Plus there is the side drama, he beat up Bobby.

Soto is a B+ fighter, it'll be a solid addition to his resume if he blows out Soto, decent addition if he wins in competitive form.

People better not even act like Valero means more when Valero is awful.

Please, if he did all that he'd garner a top 30 resume and everyone would be blown away, stop being a drama queen.

I would give Pac more credit for beating Soto than Valero.

I think people will be surprised at how the fight would play if it gets made.
Seriously some of the people on here are very ******ed.

HOW IN THE HELL IS VALERO GONNA MAKE FOR A BETTER FIGHT THAN SOTO??

If Pac does beat Soto which would by no means be easy then i would give him props for fighting Soto. Alot more than he has gotten from me in the last few years. Although JMM was also a ballsy fight. but before that he was fighting fights everyone knew he would win.

IMO Soto is possibly the more skilled but he brings nothing new to the table for Pac. Pac will outspeed him, outwork him and outbox him and then proceed to KO him. With Valero, he will possibly do all those same things but every Pac fan will be nervous as hell knowing it will only take one shot to end the fight from Valero. Valero is also a current champ and undefeated, unlike Soto who's already lost 7 times.

Ok let me get this straight. Everyone know he was gonna beat Sasakul depsite being the big underdog? Everyone knew he was gonna beat Ledwaba despite being the underdog? Everyone knew he was gonna beat MAB coming up in weight despite being a huge underdog? He faces a prime JMM straight after whom Morales, MAB & Naz have been avoiding forever and somehow everyone knew he was gonna win that fight? He fights Morales next who was pracitically 50/50 coming into the fight, perhaps Pac was slightly favoured but that didnt show much, he lost. On the rematch it was again 50/50. After that and a few tuneups he faces JMM again which was another 50/50 fight.

Take away Pac's tuneups from 126-130 and his resume consist of:

    MAB - Underdog
    JMM - 50/50
    Morales - slight favourite
    Morales - 50/50
Morales - 2/1 favourite (to settle the trilogy)
MAB - 2/1 favourite (to grant him his last fight request)
    JMM - rematch

God some people just dont have credibility when they come out with garbage like that.

What i meant was for a while he wasnt facing legit competition. It was after he beat Morales the first time. I think it was Morales mistake to have the third fight also set at 130 when it was clear he wasnt gonna make it in a healthy way. Up until he fought JMM for the second time he was really just collecting paychecks.
Hey Guzman and Soto were there instead of Velasquez and that other guy he fought in Texas.

And Yes Soto has a few things like hunger which is very important.
Along with the power that Erik Morales lacked at 130 lbs.
He has a pretty big frame too for the weight class. He has a 1" height advatage over Pac along with a 5" reach advantage. He can utilize a jab like Morales did which is what won him the first fight and the first half of the second.
He also has a sturdy chin proved by his record which states he has never been dropped.

Those 2 things spell trouble because you need a jab to beat Pac along with a strudy chin because you know its gonna get tested. Then throw in the hunger he must have from having fallen short of a title in his last 2 outings and you got a hell of a fight. One Pac might not win.

What does Valero have? A big punch which is so wide that it would take a very exhausted Pac for it to land. And Pac has plenty of Stamina to be weary of that left hand. Valero has power but his shots are much too wide along with a questionable chin and defense. I think his fans mostly want this because it will make Pac out to seem more than he really is in that fight. Kind of what Diaz made him look like. Dont get me wrong Pac is a good fighter but his options on who he fights arent always the greatest for the fans.

Who the hell is Humberto Soto? (no offense) he's never been a world champion and has 7 losses. On the other hand here's Valero a WBA 130lbs world champion undefeated with 24 wins and 24 k.os. Even if Pacquiao beat Soto what would he gain for that win? Nothing. While Valero is a world champion that would mean a lot for Pacman, legacy-wise beating champions and ex-champions. Manny has few fights left in him (based on his contract with Top Rank) why would he waste his time with a nobody in Soto. If Soto beat Guzman last time, then he has a shot against the 4 time/division champion :yep
