I ****ed up, big time. i was rooting for Hatton until joe cortez waved the fight off..I couldn't sit down through out the whole fight. i was swearing at the tv, throwing **** around and everything you can possibly imagine. tonight was a rough night for me. :yep i'm still heart-broken but i take my hat off to mayweather and have NO excuses whatsoever. I can now call myself a fan of his I am not going to say 'hatton wasn't a real welterweight' because neither is floyd, so that logic goes out the window. it is a great win, hatton was a top 10 P4P fighter going into the fight and mayweather took care of business. also, any of you floyd fans that are still bashing hatton..please, **** off and die in a fire..It is only making floyd look worse. you call yourselves fans but continue to point out hatton's flaws yet you're so excited on the win..give credit where it's due. Hatton was game, tough and competitive and went down swinging. I want to see mayweather versus cotto now. yeah, I guess thats it. :yep OH..one more thing.. There's Onlyyyyyyy Oneeeeeee Rickyyy Hatton!
I hear ya man. I kind of felt the same way you are after Calzahge beat Kessler. Rootin for Kessler the whole time, but Calzahge was too good. Showed excellent boxing skill and ring smarts. Adjusted in the middle of the fight and boxed the hell out of Kessler. He made me a fan that night.
I'm ****ing heartbroken. Hatton winning would've been the highlight of many people's lives. But he put on a good show, he made Floyd work hard and bring out his A game. No shame at all. The thing about Floyd is he EARNED our respect tonight. He took on an exceptionally dangerous fighter and won.
Although I'm a Floyd fan, I believe I can still give an honest assessment of Hatton. The guy is a gutsy fighter with alot of heart. However, he needs to either change up his style or stay away from really good boxers. Way too often he came in with his chin exposed, not using any head movement, or a jab. He was got beat in every facet of the sport tonight. He did nothing better than Floyd. The good news for Ricky is that he'll never face another fighter as good as Floyd. However, if he wants to beat guys like Witter and Malignaggi, he'll have to work on his jab, defense, and head movement.
