Weird thread. I dont get this whole casual fan thing..they seem to be talking sense to me, or am i missing something?
People treat this hardcore/casual thing as if it's binary, which it isn't. I'd put myself somewhere in the middle.
Reading it back you're right I wasn't making much sense
Was trying to point out that even people that aren't massively clued up on boxing etc could see that Fury made easy work of Wilder for most of the fight but I suppose bar one or two I'm preaching to the choir here anyway. Content deleted.
Anytime talking with a casual.. Mike Tyson and Muhammed Ali's name quickly get mentioned.
Why does it matter if your a big boxing fan or a casual??? I don't get the point why boxing fans moan about the so called 'casuals'. More people who watch boxing the bigger and better it will be.
Your absolutely right that with more casuals boxing will continue to grow.
Hardcore boxing fans moan at the casuals when they come out with ridiculous statements.
You know someones a casual when they say 'I reckon that daniel wulder will KO fury in 3'.
Yes someone actually said Daniel wulder to me
One thing annoys me most of all is a ****head off his nut everyweek on beak and beer that starts talking boxing "at" me.. Pathetic weak individuals that know absolutely nothing about themselves let alone boxing . I don't mind the so called casual as i strive to educate anyone who is willing to listen and learn .
Had that yesterday at a work Xmas party. I try so hard to change the subject.
I have some casual boxing fans in work who I sometimes hear chatting about boxing in the canteen. I'm the boxing fan but feel like I don't even want to join in cos I'll just come across as a smart-arse, correcting them constantly, so I don't even bother.
Casuals drive this sport. They may have faults but are integral to boxing
Exactly. I can guarantee there’s not 90k hardcore boxing fans filling up Wembley for AJ fights. In fact it’s the self proclaimed hardcores that always find something to moan about, casual just enjoy the occasion. People enjoy different things to different extents, let them be.
Ask me anything!
Very curious, can someone tell me where the line is drawn between casual fan and hardcore fan? Is it as simple as anyone supporting boxing from this perceived AJ era??
Ha. Daniel Wulder
