K-Pav was dropped by Jermain Taylor, Fulgencio Zuniga, Bronko McKart (to be fair it was a balance shot) and by 9-11-3 tomato can Mathias Bedburdick Non-puncher Bedburdick hurt him badly with an innocuous love tap 7:30 This content is protected Timstamped This content is protected Pavlik won't be running from the smaller man like Jacobs did or missing the second day weigh in so he can come in at 220lbs + and I'm assuming he won't be on a Mexican meat strength, muscle, and stamina building program like Clenelo or have 3 judges batting for his team. And we're pitting a prime GGG vs a prime K-Pav. Clenelo and Jacobs wanted nothing to do with prime GGG. It took GGG looking human against Brook for Jacobs to inflate his plums and even then GGG had to bend over backwards, jump through hoops and make unreasonable and unearned concessions just to get Jacobs in the rin with him despite GGG affording ''The Golden Child'' the golden opportunity of relieving him of all 3 of his world tiles in one fell swoop in his backyard. And it took GGG looking human against Brook and Jacobs for Clenelo to pop his head back out of the chicken coop he'd been hiding away in patiently biding his time waiting to see signs of GGG slipping. And GGG already beat ''The Ghost'' This content is protected
but 3g really won his first title in 2015, they fought him in 2016 and 2017. thats not waiting at all. they fought him as soon as he had a title they felt was legit.
Think I need to rewatch alot of pavlik....i always remember him being a very effective up and down jab jab right hand destroyer but also remember him not having the greatest whiskers ... And being pretty basic... No disrespect to him he was great at what he did. ....but I'd fancy ggg to win . Just a little bit more to his game
I’d love this fight. I was a big fan of The Ghost...but he would crumble under the pressure and power from GGG. He’d have early success I’d guess with hard 1,2’s utilizing reach and size, but GGG doesn’t go away or relent. GGG connects more n more n Pav’s face skin would break open and he’d start to dishearten. This is an easy fight to pick in my opinion.
The Only thing GGG is catching would be a cold because Pavlik isnt going to knock him out or drop him.
GGG tends to stalk coming straight foward at times. and Pavlik hits a heck of a lot harder than Canelo. GGG likely wins. But if his trainer didnt warn him against standing in front of pavlik and trading...well...
Prime Pavlik before getting drunk non stop was a VERY BIG Middle.......GGG looks like a midget next to him., IMO, GGG would not take the fight and waits until Pavlik moves up. GGG was gun shy against low energy junior middle Canelo..........who was and never will be a big puncher........Pavliks power is in a different zipcode all together, he will put GGG into his Canelo shell real quick and we would find out how good GGG's chin really is because Pavlik would be the hardest hitting skilled puncher he would ever face. It took a Light Heavy to derail a alcoholic Pavlik way above Middle weight........GGG is scared to even go to 168. Fact. GGG stepped up twice and went life and death . Fact. Pavlik will KO the over rated Tomatoe can crusher within the distance, around 8-10's round because the easy to hit GGG aint taking the shots Pavlik is gonna bounce of his chin........plus Pavlik aint gonna back up after a couple of shots like mediocre puncher Canelo did to admire his work, Pavlik follows up full bore.
Ones chin is proven granite, the other guy can be hurt..I think GGG sickens him late with something that makes him drop and stay down or pts GGG
Yeah I actually prefer the pre-Sanchez GGG in many ways and he obviously was a lot fresher and had less miles on the clock back then too.
Even back then the Jab, straight as an arrow, didn't like his shorts though Serge, his shorts under Sanchez have been far better !
