too high and too low for Fury. Imaging if Floyd Mayweather was knocked down hard twice in a fight, never hurt his opponent and was awarded a victory or draw. Forums would be lit up with cries of robbery. Since Fury survived, he's seen as victorious by his supporters. I feel bad for Wilder and I see why he getting mean. He has no support.
That's definitely not the reason people think Fury won. The reason people think Fury won is simple, because he did. What is this nonsense?
People think Fury won because Fury won. All of a sudden people seem to think because you got knocked down you shouldnt be seen as winning the fight. How the goalposts get moved by some fans in this sport depending on who they are talking about is quite amusing. Theres moving goalposts and then theres dismantling them and ringing Fedex. Look, Wilder got a gift, his zero was saved and his lovely Janet or what ever he calls is belt was saved and he lives to fight another day as the so called baddest man on the planet. But he lost that fight and everybody knows it, we all saw the knock downs, we all scored them accordingly and yet Wilder still lost. Its Boxing.
Whatever you think happened and whatever you think on boxing's scoring (I think it's flawed as hell), it's still simple math. Almost everyone watching had it 10-2 to 8-4 for Fury, with the 2 KD rounds, which either means 116-110, 115-111 or 114-112 Fury. These are the consensus scores. Only if you go as close as 7 to 5 (113-113) or even 6-6 (112-114) you could get a draw or even a Wilder score. 111-115 is completely ridiculous (Mexican judge).
I don't get why people are making such a big deal of the two knock downs, as if they completely negate what happened in the other 10 rounds. They won Wilder a net four points more than Fury. Significant but not decisive...
As I said before, if a fighter like Mayweather or Ward performed in the same fashion as Fury, no one would be screaming robbery. Only the KD's would be considered. Super hypocritical.
Some of these fury fans are ridiculous how you gonna give all the close rounds to the challenger? And there were 5 close rounds at least FOH
Because he won them. Just because they are close doesn't mean the same fighter can't win all the close rounds, we don't have to divvy it out for the sake of fairness. There's nothing against scoring it even if you can't split it and if you can then score it accordingly. You were there, I'm very jealous cuz that was an epic fight, but have you watched it back yet? Freshen your mind from a better angle?
Look we need to be objective and honest. I am a Wilder fan but please point out to me which of the close rounds you feel Wilder deserved. When I watched the fight initially I gave Wilder the first, the 9th and then of course the 12th. In re-watching it today I realized I couldn't give him the first. Take into consideration the compubox numbers, in EVERY round, including the 9th and 12th Fury out landed Wilder. This is not some bias, watch the fight again and please point out which of the rounds outside the 9th and 12th you can genuinely award to Wilder? Fury pretty much dictated the fight from the opening bell until the end. Wilder couldn't land on him enough to counter the combinations that Fury would land. Time and again, Wilder would land a single jab, and Fury would respond with a 2 punch combination.
Well DUH! Wilder is supposed to be this 'hardest puncher in history' in terms of one punch power and power in general. So now that his power has been utterly exposed by someone with a hilariously suspect chin in Tyson Fury, what does that make Wilder's power then? HILARIOUSLY SUSPECT AND QUESTIONABLE? Wilder's only getting judged by the standard set by his own staunchest fans and fanatics. We've had clowns claiming Wilder has 'demonic' punching power. We've had other clowns claiming Wilder has the hardest single punch in boxing history. We've also had clowns claiming how Fury would be knocked out brutally, needing pillows and blankets. Truth: None of those things were evident during their actual bout. So this idea of Wilder being this hard puncher, has been UTTERLY disproved by his utter inability to literally blast away suspect chinned Tyson Fury in 12 rounds. We also know that Wilder has been active and in his prime. Meanwhile, Fury has been inactive, overweight and coming off a 3 year lay off with insane amount of ring rust and weight loss. Meaning, if Wilder was really as good as advertised, and his power was as great as advertised, he should LOGICALLY be expected to perform SIGNIFICANTLY, and I mean SIGNIFICANTLY better than how he did against Fury. Meanwhile, all things considered, Fury wasn't expected to perform that well.
I’m still buzzing I watched it again Fury started to slow from rounds 3-6 That’s where wilder banked some rounds
Hilariously suspect chin? He was knocked out but still got up to fight to the end of a round. Anyway, all your boxing arguments come down to "if X, then Y, but Y didn't happen so X can't be true", and you label it "logic" as if that validates your argument. "If Joshua doesn't KO Joe Bloggs in 30 seconds, then LOGICALLY, as people say he is very good, he can't be any good" etc. But that's not how the real world works, nor is it how logic works. I'm not taking sides in this thread, I just find your lame "X, so Y" posts irritating. I'd have liked to have found a way to say this politely, but I couldn't, sorry.
What is it with all these idiots who don't know how to score a boxing fight? Just because you drop an opponent twice doesn't mean it negates losing 9-10 rounds. If how to score a fight is too hard for you simpletons then go watch a less complicated sport.
