Bute by Decision -- there will be no knockouts
Joppy despite being old and past his prime has a solid chin and a solid jab. He's only been stopped once and has been in the ring with some good fighters and the fact that he's been a two time champion will give him the stones to stay in the fight.

I wouldn't say that I'm ignorant but rather i dont waste my time watching CONTENDERS like Bute. Has he fought a name yet? Joppy is probably his biggest name so that says alot.

basically a prime contender against a shot ex-contender. Bute will win bigtime

I cant expect anything but a one sided beat down.

bute will win every round before stopping him in 6 or 7.

Joppy was very talented at his peak, but is completely shot to **** now.

I also assume he is shot to bits, but cannot tell exactly how shot he is, yet. We'll see. In any case, even if he were shot, he should have enough to test Bute for a couple of rounds...remember Reid v. Froch? Reid made Froch look silly at times...Joppy will try to do the same. I don't see why he shouldn't manage to...The early rounds will be telling enough about Bute's development. Of course, later on, Joppy will fade badly...but to me, that is not so important.

I expect Bute to put a serious ass whoopin on old Joppy, and thanks to the Canadian networks I'll get to watch it free and legally on my PC.

    WAR....BUTE!!!

I dont think this will be the fight in which we can tell how far bute will go, unless ofcourse he struggles in some bad way or loses ofcourse.

I see this being so easy that LB wont be tested, he may even be underrating Joppy if anything, thay really is Willies only chance.

Im going to let this defence go, as its his first one and its okay for champs to have a gimme once and a while, but he has to take a serious step up next time round. I want a realy top ten guy.

Joppy may be shot, but he is not incompetent. He fought some of the very best in his time, so he must have learned a thing or two. Bute is a slow starter. Bika won the first couple of rounds quite clearly. I still think we'll be able to guage Bute's progress from this fight, by watching the first couple of rounds closely.

Yeah, Bute will fight Andrade next, if he gets past Stieglitz. Andrade is tough stylistically for Bute and he is a top 10 guy.

If you really like boxing, looking at young boxers is not a waste of time. :huh But hey, be patient, de la Hoya-Mayweather next boring fight is coming in about 6 months.

I actually rated Joppy very highly. Alot higher than most.

but he is well past it, hasnt fought at world level since losing to Taylor in 2004, and a natural middleweight.

I see no excuses for a bad performance from bute.
