people keep complaing about the way he fights and so on and yeah he should be destroying guys but he still winning. think the problem is alot of you want him to be like tyson and just kill everybody but he dosent have the type of talent. you cant want him to be like tyson or holyfield or lewis. or even a prime riddick bowe for that matter, but for this weak era, he still pretty good, for this era anyway.

People need to realize wlad is a boxer, not a brawler or swarmer. Boxers are patient and calculating. Lewis was more of aggressive boxer.

Wlad just happens to have tremendous power in both hands so he can ko mostly everyone even if he just sits back and boxes.

People have unrealistic expectations or are just plain haters.

so? Riddick Bowe was a much better boxer than Wlad is but he still took chances and displayed top notch performances.

hes good all around, but people want him to "wow" them. not his style and again, he got talent but not like say the last 3 great heavywieghts like lewis, holy or tyson.

there were some things bowe did better and there some things wlad does better....u could say Bowe was an excellent inside fighter and had a good chin but Wlad uses his feet far more effectively and throws a much sharper right cross.

again, bowe was a boxer but far more aggressive and didn't mind taking punches. wlad isn't going do that. he's gonna fight his fight and be very patient. i don't see how that make him an inferior fighter. you can say less fan friendly if you want.

Also boxing fans are fickle. They complained about Lennox Lewis for being too cautious and boring too. After he retires Wlad's reputation will rise like LL's did.

That's the problem. He DOES have that type of talent. He is humongous, and he has the power and skills to go with it. He could finish off any of the contenders of today in about 4 rounds, but he doesn't seem to want to take it up a notch. But, yes he does get too much criticism. People try to say he's rubbish, but he keeps on winning. He's a damn good fighter, if not a very urgent one.

Wlad is doing what he has to do first and foremost, which is win. He understands he can't fight the way he used to before Manny got ahold of him, because all that will do is better the chance of him getting knocked or gassed out. Wlad is to the point right now where his jab alone practically wins him his fights, he uses his physical size and abilities to dictate the pace and the distance at which he wants his oppenents to fight at.

As much as I would love to see Wlad get knocked out, I came to the realization that, that may not happen for sometime. The division is that bad, and Wlad happens to be that good now.

yeah they thought lewis was too cautious, years later they get a guy like wlad, who even more cautious then lewis but like lewis, he keeps winning. can say nothing about that.

Is it over expectations or overhyped? To me he is overhyped. You cant call someone great who cant fight a lick. He can box great in a boxing match, but hes lost in a fight. So what is he dominating? A bunch of boxers that present him with a nonpleasing style so he can coast from the outside to a late round stoppage.
This is the case, so he should be taking more chances to be more exciting, but he obviously doesnt have the confidence to open up a little, he may wind up in a fight.:blood

Wlad's style makes Lewis look like Tyson.

thats the thing, people want him to be exciting but that not him. tyson had that "it" which excited people. holy had it to. lewis and bowe had it to a certain extent. wlad just dosent have that but he still a techincaly good fighter.

Thats exactly right. Any fight he's in a fight, Wlad winds up on his back, several panic attacks, and resorts to excessive clinching, when the going gets tough. As much as people want to compare Lewis to Wlad, the truth is Lewis was in dog fights with big punchers and didn't panic or fall all over the place, he usually ended up winning. Against Briggs, Bruno, Marovic, Mercer, Vitali, etc...

Im sorry, Wlad is not nearly as tough as Lennox was.
