Because Ken Norton's style neutralized Ali's jab. The jab that set up most of Ali's knockouts.

I'll answer this simple question: Tyson wouldn't be wasting his punches like Foreman did. Tyson is also far more accurate than Foreman was.

Yes but Ali's chin would hold up to Tyson's punches. Tyson also had pretty bad stamina, and Ali would take advantage of that.

I don't think Ali would be able to withstand Tyson's bombs for that long. Tyson's delivery system was different than Foreman's, more compact and quicker. What you can't see will hurt you. It's not who has more power or Earnie Shavers would be the greatest heavyweight of all time. Tyson's stamina in his prime was excellent. His output slowed down over the course of the fight but so did his opponent's since Tyson's style was taxing on his opponent as well.

Ali can definitely last the distance and thwart Tyson's offensive attack. He'd know what to do. I just don't think he would, though.

Buster Douglas who had a lower KO% than Ali and a garbage resume in comparison managed to hurt Mikey plenty.

But you reckon a guy who stopped more fighters, of a higher calibre and with a greater frequency couldn't do it?

    Tyson fanboy logic in action:nut

    Ali 1970-75 beats Tyson's ****.

Yes, Tyson will come into an ali fight utterly unprepared and disrespectful of his opponent.

Foreman is a dumb puncher compared to an all time great finisher like Tyson.

    Excuses, excuses.

Fact- Unimpressive fringe contender, 42-1 underdog ktfo the so called "baddest man on the planet" and did it in such a dominant fashion that accusations of a fluke look dubious to say the least.

How many 23 year old, prime heavyweight champions who lost in such a manner (beaten from pillar to post aside from a lucky uppercut in one round) to such an opponent are held in the reverence that Tyson is?

Not that many and fewer still who never manned up and reversed this (or any other) loss.

Tyson was good but his image is what drew (and keeps drawing) the mugs in. He looked sensational beating frightened Lt Heavyweights, old men, overweight drug addicts, bums and mental cases but failed miserably when he met talented, fit brave and motivated fighters invariably.

He falls short of the ATG's every day of the week.

^ This post sounds harsh but it does happen to be approximately 100% true.

If Frazier is "face first" then so is Tyson. Both of them were punchers, so take your pick.

I'd go with the one who didn't get KO'd and TKO'd by "non-punchers"

Ken Norton has a universally recognised shaky chin. Frazier lasted just as long as he did, only difference is Norton suffered more Ko losses because he fought more punchers and was never stopped by Ali.

Frazier fought one puncher and only one. For a reason.
