Moore didn't even mention Ali in that quote. He was talking about Frazier. You can't just quote Moore when he says something you agree with, but dismiss him as biased when he says something you don't agree with.
I think @choklab has an especially good point in regard to Walcott. That man was on fire at the time, and he certainly had more than a few flashes of greatness in that fight. Though I have grown a lot in my regard for Liston due to patient members here, I think Jersey Joe would have given even prime Liston a good fight (hard to think he'd go the distance, though).
Sonny was certainly more heavily muscled. Heavily in a way that would have been a disadvantage against Louis I think. Prime Louis had borderline supernatural combination skills...I do think Sonny would have given Joe problems with that jab, though.
I sympathize with your sentiments here, @ETM But Liston did have that jab, and the uppercut when Rocky comes inside. I don't see either knocking the other out in their respective primes, though. I see Rocky winning best 2 out of 3.
Not really! Moore intervievew Frazier before that fight and he voted for Frazier! But he also said when Frazier fought Foreman that Frazier is not Marciano and not even close to his power! Moore talked aslo that in his interview from 90s! I only could quote what is quoted not what Moore maybe said!He was just mad for Ali and said Frazier is like Marciano but never that Frazier is better! Even Foreman said Moore told him many things about Marciano watch the comment from Foreman on ESPN! Frazier even said when he watched Ali rope a dope with Foreman:He couldn't get away with that against Marciano!
