Sonny liston folded on cassius clay, when clay had no power just speed. Liston was a bully fighter, but when he met any resistance he folded. Marciano would put enough pressure to tire liston and get the UD in the later rounds.
Get out of here. What do i need of substance to wallop what i actually quoted? Did you even read it? It was a load of rot. Who in their right mind would attempt to take away extremely significant wins from a guy by trying to convey that the other guy simply wasn't himself? A guy flogged not once but twice? The post was quite frankly embarrassing and so are you if you want to align with it. Then again if you are saying people have no answer for the rot chok goes on with maybe boxing isn't really your thing.
Liston is bigger, stronger, better at anticipating his opponent, better chin, better jab, better body puncher (he goes to the body more often than Louis), better fighting backwards, better on the outside, better at making in ring adjustments (though Louis was more proven in adapting in rematches), etc.
Liston retired cause he injured his rotator cuff, something which was attested by the doctors who examined him after the fight. Marciano doesn't make it to the latter rounds, Liston KO's him in the first few rounds.
Yeah saw that. But with everything written one would think? I don’t necessarily think it’s out of the question. Not as good a career but at his best...a bad man.
A guy who was never been stopped in 49 fights and use to run 15 miles up a hill and had a granite chin? marciano delt with injuries during fights and never quit on the stool but sonny did, yet Marciano is the quiter ?you guys keep fantasizing.
You rate Liston a better fighter than prime Louis? Maybe this is why you get so offended when somebody thinks Sonny might get beat. It all makes sense now. I think that if Arturo Godoy could smother and crowd a prime Joe Louis the first time with Charlie Goldman’s tactics then I believe his better student (Rocky) can do the same with Liston. That’s all.
Can't you read ?!? I never said Marciano quitted, I just explained why Liston quit. And if Marciano would have sustained the same injury, he would have quit too. Plus running 15 miles won't do him any good, he'd still get KO'd within the first 5 rounds, so his endurance won't matter
