Maybe, but Pacquiao could certainly use his hit-and-away rhythm to beat JCC silly with combos. His brawling would AID him against JCC, not hurt him. Slugger beats up on the Swarmer, and I think you'd see Pac use a combination of his hand/foot speed and middle range brawling to throw JCC a pretty solid beating.

135lb JCC has the best chance of beating the David Diaz era Pacquiao, but above that weight I think I'd favor Pacquiao.

I don't think so it's not that simple and to call JCC a swarmer is ridiculous and even you know this. He was at worst a aggressive pressure fighter but in my eyes he was a technician who knew how to read his opponents and figure them out. You make it seem as if all he does is come forward without any gameplan and eat shots which couldn't be further from the truth. JCC while not a defensive genius had underrated defense and was a master at cutting off the ring and applying educated pressure while attacking the body and he was brilliant at it one of the best ever. In alot of ways I see this fight being similar to JCC-Taylor or Cotto-Margo with both seemingly having control of the fight but paying a heavy price for doing so. Both of which who were ground down and slowed down in the late rounds by a brutal and sustained body assault. IMO JCC is all wrong for Pac.

    This is absolutely absurd.

Manny crushes Chavez at any of these weights.

Most of chavez's biggest wins are robberies.

What do you mean? That is his style. You could slide him into the area of boxer-puncher on account of his lower WR and overall speed but his pressure style could definitely be put into that style category. He cut the ring, had good head movement and power, fought almost exclusively off his front foot. Swarmer doesn't mean dumb frontrunner eating shots like a ****. It simply means a fighter that attempts to overwhelm another with constant pressure. That pressure can be educated with good footwork and combinations, feints, head movement and a solid jab.

I simply see Pacquiao being able to frustrate JCC with his combination of speed, power, southpaw stance, somewhat awkward style and chin. Like I said, not a shoe-in for Pacquiao but i would favor him at certain weights.

Styles makes fights. I believe that a 140lbr Pacquiao (the one that fought ODLH) would bloodied Chavez for a TKO win in the late rounds. Chavez may not go down but the Ref might just stop the fight. I believe Pacquiao will have a more difficult time with Mayweather rather than Chavez. His style is tailor made for Pacman, no doubt about it.

Amazing how some of the posters here think that Manny Pacquiao, arguably the best fighter in this decade would just fold and not even give Chavez a tough fight. Wow.
