If Ruiz can force his way inside against David Haye, then Haye's infighting and brawling abilities will be tested. This question is for guys here who are experts on Haye's abilities and career: what past fights prove Haye's ability to brawl or infight? Even if those fights are at cruiserweight, I want to study them.

    Recommend, please.

David Haye Blitzed Maccrinelli, Ruiz isn't as good as Maccrinelli, Haye should win this one by KO

But Haye blitzed Macca from the outside; there was no brawling or trading in the fight. Thus, this fight isn't a good example.

My object here is to investigate how Haye may or may not hold up if forced to brawl with Ruiz. What will happen if Ruiz forces his way inside? I'd like to study Haye's history of fighting at close quarters, if it exists.

Fraggomeni and Mormec. Both he won by KO. This fight with Ruiz will be a joke but he had to take it to get the title so its more of an obligation. Ruiz's style is taylor-made for a guy like Haye who doesnt clinch much and fights with speed and power. That plus the fact that Ruiz is old and he is trying to fight without holding all adds up to a very bad ending for the Quiet Man. Haye wont get any credit for the KO, but at least Ruiz will be gone for good after this one.

Ruiz struggles with guys moving up in weight who have fast hands, ie Toney and RJJ, the difference here is that Haye can punch, Ruiz is gonna get caught coming in. Haye is a puncher so if Ruiz wants to brawl he is gonna have to be able to take Haye's power. Someone that can punch the way Haye does with all that speed, skill and athletic ability is a bad match up for Ruiz.

Is it possible that Haye's power is overrated? His only kayo at heavyweight is against Barrett, who was shopworn. I noticed in the film that Barrett actually remains upright after absorbing some power shots from Haye.

You point out that Haye doesn't clinch, but won't he need to if Ruiz forces his way inside? I thought that Haye looked kind of wild when at close quarters with Barrett; Haye actually missed many punches at close range. He didn't look like he could set up combinations to the body, or use his arms and elbows during infighting. I didn't see Haye throw uppercuts while inside, either.

    What do you think?

People who know their boxing better than me are telling me that there is no comparison between Toney and Haye, in terms of skill and fundamentals. They say Toney is vastly more skilled than Haye. Toney's matchless skill at head movement and counterpunching, I'm told, gave him options against Ruiz that Haye will not have. According to these guys, Haye will not be able to stand in front of Ruiz the way Toney did. That would be too risky for Haye.

Are you certain that Haye's power from long range is heavy enough to blow Ruiz away, before Ruiz can move inside and brawl?

When Toney WAS motivated and in shape he WAS clearly better than Haye, but that Toney doesn't exist anymore and Ruiz went in against a fat, lazy, out of shape Toney with no stamina and was nearly stopped. Haye unlike Toney will will be young and in great shape against an OLD Ruiz.

Haye's physical gifts give Haye lots of Options against Ruiz. Roy Jones who was way undersized sure looked great Beating Ruiz from the outside, and while P4P RJJ is much better than Haye he didn't have Haye's size, length strength, or Power. I'm not saying Ruiz will be KTFO as soon as Haye catches him BUT Ruiz will have to respect his power or else he will go to sleep.

Firstly, Haye was fairly poor against Barrett - yet he still floored him numerous amount of times in the fight and every knockdown apart from the last one was a glancing blow. You can question other things about Haye, but you can't question his power.

He knocked out Bonin at heavy within a minute as well just to let you know.

He very rarely in-fights thats why - against Frag is the best example of it you are going to get. Haye is good with his movement though to stay out of clinches and I don't think Ruiz will get in on the inside that much during the fight.

Edit: Just realised your not the TS - sorry :)

He broke a signed contract to fight Vlad, faked an injury, then broke an implied contract and ran like Hell from Vitali. He did not throw punches vs. Valouev but was given a gift anyway. Haye is pure fecal matter.
