People can say what they like about the major alphabets but at least they've never sanctioned a fight between their number 6 and 61 fighters for one of their vacant belts which is exactly what the IBO did here. If they were the mark of integrity, some make them out to be, they would have kept the title vacant until a better paring came along. But, of course, they don't get any money that way so they have to give it to anyone who is willing to pay for it.

of course the fact that Jones Jr. could move up to Cruiser to face Green next

and have the fight be for the IBO Cruiserweight title would have nothing to do with it, right?

The Haye comparison isn't a valid one anyway. Haye held the WBC/WBA titles at cruiser and is now stepping up a division to fight the WBA titlist there. What would be a fair comparison is if the WBA heavyweight title was vacant and they were sanctioning Haye v Audley Harrison for the strap.

The politics of boxing is killing the sport. When politics trumps legitimacy, it makes the sport a joke. It's really a shame. Boxing is just set up all wrong. Too many people looking out for their own good. Too many promoters. Too many belts. We even have the big dog HBO always trying to counter their programming with Showtime.

People talk all the time about "boxing needs this fight". And maybe they think that because of this big fight, boxing will be right again. I couldn't disagree more. You have to fix the foundation to make it work and the foundation of this sport is a joke. Pacman/PBF didn't help. Pacman/Cotto isn't going to help. Pacman/PBF isn't going to help.

Technically, Tomasz Bonin was actually ranked 15th but only by the WBC, all other rankings didn't have him in top 15.

Fightnews does not even rate Green at all at lhw along with many other organizations. The IBO is a bogus title, and didn't Green come out of retirement to face Mundine and lose? Green has never beaten an elite fighter, or fought one...yet got a title shot for what organization? Anyway, Inbruman, you've been up all night. Get up early, look for a job, and stop the Green dickriding lol... He's 36, and his career is almost over. Green can beat Jones, and ride off into the sunset as Australia's greatest ummmm lol...

I do not think Jones would be fighting Green without some title on the line.
