Yeah he did but he also go knocked out by Cotto and you think Cotto hits harder than Julio?

Add to that Julio was a 21 yr old up and comer and Quintana was 28 with a ton more experience than Julio. Oh and the 110 degree, dry, Vegas heat.

Quintana is a stepping stone at best for up and comers to test their skills against a somewhat accomplished fighter.

What have any of those guy's you named done since fighting Cotto?
Those guys aren't making any noise in the 140 division. and the 147 ..

Judah 1-3-0-1NC ... before he met Cotto ... had already lost to Mayweather and busted Cotto - Floyd wasn't bested up.

Chop Chop is Floyds sparring partner ...

Quintana - we shall see about him ...

Abdulaev didn't do anything significant in the pro ranks and didn't accomplish anything before retiring ...

    N'dou (lost to Malignaggi)
    Pinto ???
    Branco ???

His whole resume is a question mark and he's beating guys that Floyd wouldn't give a thought of fighting because they're not on his level.
Those are like the fillers that Floyd fought before he had his first title attempt.

Where was the serious threat? the 36 year old Mosley?
The 1-3-0 1NC Judah ... who's now been labeled as a stepping stone.

Come on now dude ... which one of these guys are on PBF's level ... not were but are on his level now? None of them ... they're all at the tail end of their careers and hasn't did anything significant in years.

Cotto got these guys when they were outside their prime ...[/quote]

    Intresting :think

Quintana, Malanaggi and Torres all current world champs are outside their prime....I can't wait till they reach their full potential.

Quintana did not get any credit until he beat Williams and now all of a sudden he is an elite WW because of so. The only real credible fighter Cotto beat was Mosley who is clearly not the same fighter he once was. I think people overate Cotto's resume a little too much. He has good wins but the padding needs to stop. He has yet to beat an elite fighter in his prime.

Maybe he didn't get any credit from you but I know plenty of people who considered him a great talent from even before he stepped in with Joel Julio (though that was the first time I saw him) now that's neither here nor there, and your right Cotto has yet to add a win to his resume against a prime elite.....PBF has one p4p top ten man on his resume "Ricky Hatton" so if you consider Ricky Hatton a bigger threat to a WW title than Shane Mosley then yes you are correct in your observation. Others may disagree and rightfully so.

ha ha. So until there is 'concrete' proof that Cotto could give Floyd trouble we shouldn't have the fight? Are you even a boxing fan? Are you even a Mayweather fan? I would think that a fan of Mayweather would at least like to see him fight good competition. Actually... screw that. From now on let's just look at resume's and past acomplishments to decide the winners. Hell, instead of wasting a good hour watching a so so fight I could just tune in, see Mayweather declared the victor, and then go doing something actually entertaining.

Mayweather is one of, if not THE, best boxer in the world today. But according to logic like yours the Patriots shouldn't have even had to play football this year, much less play the Giants in the Superbowl. Yeesh.

That being said I think Cotto could give Mayweather a hell of a time, similar to what Castillo did. I'm willing to be patient though... I mean what is another year after waiting this long? In the meantime I will watch Cotto fight and watch Mayweather... dance... wrestle... stand around in a ring with DLH... and maybe in 2009 even fight.

I was referring to the current status of the list but you are correct. Its a good thing you came by Mr. Fitz was slowly being broken down by my methodical body attack the ref was thinking about stopping the fight but he decided to let the punishment continue.
