i just don't get the myth and legend of Fury. Yes he beat WK, but just remember both were terrible in that fight.

Put that fight aside, he was hardly tearing through the division. His best win apart from WK is Chisora. He has been down and hurt a few times too.

This is a serious thread about the greatest boxer of all time Tyson Fury

You obviously weren't capable of adding anything to a thread as great as this

*Excluding all boxers from other eras and ones I've not seen fight live (too many options to consider otherwise)

If we're taking into account fighters in their prime that I have seen box - and excluding Lennox coz we're just gonna troll if I don't - I would argue a prime Mike Tyson might have had the blueprint. His lack of height would have been to his advantage when combined with his head movement and fast feet. I think he would have ducked down low and rolled under Tyson's (your?) punches and got to him with savage hooks and uppercuts. The way he could step to the side and create angles doing so would negate Fury's reach and jab.

Also, Fury wouldn't have been able to get into Mike's head and won the mind games like he did with Wlad. Let's face it, Mike was crazier than Fury. I think Fury's eccentricity would have been subdued by Iron Mike and the mind games would've worked the other way.

I would have argued a prime Wlad would've won until they actually fought and now I'm not sure even the best Wlad beats Fury. Prime Vitali was a beast, so he would have had his chances. But for me Tyson at his peak beats him, firstly in the mind games before the fight and then KOs him when they do. (I've even lined up the clip on the move he would use to land the KO blow)

If you're talking current boxers - no one can handle the Gipsy King in fine fettle.

He loses, not even to prime Wlad, but Wlad of about 4 or 5 years ago. He loses to Vitali. He loses to Lennox Lewis and that's just since 2000.

Would any of the current opposition beat him? Not as things stand, I don't think, but we don't really know how good one or two of these guys are just yet.

As if Joshua or Wilder have no chance to knock him out.
I am a Fury fan but that is exactly why those are interesting match ups.
As mentioned too he is good at beating himself right now. In an interview before this coke test he said he was a recovering heroin addict.
Recovering heroin addict that loves to drink and do coke is a complete disaster. He is not exactly the type of guy I would bet on pulling his **** together, quite the opposite if anything.

ask cunningham, who schooled fury until the big guy laying on him wore cunningham down. ask worthless nevin pajkic, who had no skill, no power, yet still laid fury flat. i would take any top ten hw against fury. how do you do it? simply land solidly on that pathetic glass jaw. fury ducked everybody with size, power and skill, until he wormed a title shot. he and wlad stared at each other for twelve rounds in the worst title fight in history. fury the failed drug tests, feigned mental illness, while expec tedly returning to his status as king of the duckers. he is now irrelevant, end of story.

The Wlad who threw about 1 punch per round against Haye was prime? Sure he was.

Povetkin in shape (and on roids if you want, half of HW division has already been busted anyway and the other half looks even more suspicious) is a difficult match up for Fury. Povetkin is used to fighting taller guys, he would move forward and eventually start landing. Fury doesn't have Klitschko's power, jab, "wrestling" and refs to copy his gameplan and neutralize Povetkin, he would get his chin checked just like against Cunningham.

Haye IMO lands the hayemaker at some point, even Fury admitted Haye is a much worse match up for him that W. Klitschko.

Joshua and even Wilder have a legit chance to KO him. I think Joshua is just too quick for him at this point even if he's still raw and relatively inexperienced. Wilder vs Fury is a 50-50 fight, so is Fury vs Ortiz.

If you give Fury Povetkin, Haye, Joshua, Ortiz and Wilder in a row he'd go 1-4 or 2-3 at best IMO.

Declining Klitschko was just tailor made fight for Fury at that point, other elite HWs are just different beats.

If he stays retired we may never know for sure if it was a fluke win or demonstration of superiority. I'm inclined to believe it's more the latter, so I'll make that assumption in my predictions. I think pre Stewart Wlad would have had a chance, when Wlad was much more aggressive, but would still slightly favor fury. Someone mentioned Mike Tyson, but I don't see Mike having any chance, Fury is much too fast and long. Mike always struggled with very tall top level boxers(close fight with an injured Tucker and of course Lewis). He's alot like a supersized Ali, so I don't see Ali doing anything, and really, he's probably too big and skilled for anyone else pre Mike Tyson anyway. I could see Joshua having a chance, but would pick Tyson. I'd favor Lewis, but I really wouldn't be shocked if Tyson beat him.
The one I really feel most confident about beating him is Vitali. Very bad style matchup for Fury. Basically, except for a very small size advantage, Vitali does everything Fury does except better. Vitali would press the action because he can't pick him apart like he normally does. And Vitali's got more power and a much better chin. Fury's only chance would be to win on cuts.

    Pure rubbish

Cunningham and pakjic were able to score knock downs because fury is such a good boxer he didn't take them seriously he was also off balance both times which is the only reason he was dropped as I've seen him take bigger shots then that and remain standing if you knew anything about boxing you wouldn't make such stupid statements here is a tissue wipe the egg off your face because if Fury chin was as bad as you claim he wouldn't have gotten up those 2 times or taken wlad's right hands

Fury is also one of the most ducked fighters in history people
Fake injuries and retire to get away from him

And now the curse of god on you for daring to insinuate that Fury is feigning mental illness you disgust me
