Explain the claim that Errol Spence has poor defense, please.

    Spence Jr looks the real deal to me but only time will tell, I think we can all agree there will be far tougher tests the Algieri.

    Spence Jr has been hit, it's boxing, fighters do get hit, if that qualifies as a "terrible defence" then can anybody tell me who has a good/great defence?

    Oh my, this is going to be another ten-odd years of being called a Flo-Mo all over again, innit? Just because you play Devil's advocate to reign in some of the more irrational statements made by the haters on the one extreme you get lumped in with their counterparts on the other. :-(

    I'm hardly sold on Spence emerging as even the best welterweight of his generatiown, let alone having the potential to merit ATG rating...but I'm definitely not sold on his defense being lousy (especially for his style, KO% and degree of focus on body punching) either based on anything we've seen thus far.

    I feel like the people that want to seek out any fault they can pounce on with Spence and use his supposed defensive liabilities to portent his doom are the same exact sort that scoff at true defensive-minded pure boxers and call them "runners". :think A tad hypocritical.

    I like Sammy but for me this is a step too far. He'd put on a respectable showing in defeat but too much of a talent deficit IMO.

    I give the edge to Sammy, I think his chin is good enough to take Spence's shots, Omotoso and Stevenson are no featherfists and he went to war with them, and took a ****load of flush shots, so if he fights cautiously like he did with Lopez an Martinez and play southpaw matador to another southpaw, I think Spence's chin gets cracked by something Sammy hits him with eventually. Although Spence will probably be far more cautious as well.

    He has good defense, but style-wise he would lose to a swarmer like Shawn Porter. That fight would be just a bar-room brawl, where Errol's boxing savvy would be rendered a non-factor.

    Let me let you in on a secret: Porter is alright moving forward in a straight line. Take the train off the tracks and he suddenly isn't that strong locomotive any longer. I'll take "technical precision" over "swarming" any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

    Spence is the goods pal, and would take him off that line. Guaranteed.

    I'm not seeing the spence hate what I do see is the GGG hate constantly though.
