This will be the first of a series whereby we @nalyze who great fighters DIDN'T fight. We will post our reasons and explanations and as we do so, a consensus will emerge as to whether the fighter in question receives a pass for their ducking (if it was even ducking at all).

    INSTRUCTIONS:
For each name or contention, post your reason why Roy Jones did not fight said fighter or why said contention is incorrect, along with one or more sources that verify that you are correct. Quote this post, respond in the template, and then delete the quote in order to post your response.

    5. The Toney that Jones beat was weight-drained, sluggish, and had previously been outboxed by Michael Nunn, an old Mike McCallum (twice), and Dave Tiberi:

    ROCKY MARCIANO! That's they one!

    Sorry..

Actually all my points were repeatedly upheld, if you followed the thread. Which was some 40+ pages, so no harm done if you didn't. Fill out the sheet since you know you're right.

    :deal

I think this one is more straight to the point and offers very little wiggle room either way if you believe Roy was a ducker or if you don't believe that.

There is succinct evidence that was already shown that yes Jones indeed preferred the path of least resistance. I think this is a very valid.

He should actually offer a counter-argument instead of just dismissing a post as "clueless".

That seems to be a problem for a lot of forums. Instead of actually trying to refute someone, they just trash the post or the poster.

He was countered and schooled in tge other threads but since he was beat down in that thread maybe he figured he have success here ! The problem with these forums is not the debates but its the lack of respect for accomplisehd fighters and it comes from people with agendas ! Thats the real issue on these forums not just passing off someone as clueless !
