People see what they want to see.

Every fight is a case by case basis to some degree of debate. But to other likely larger logically consistent degrees, a catchweight is a catchweight.

Those who claim to hate all catchweights to the extent of looking like regurgitating an agenda regardless of scenario likely hate every massively popular and successful fighter of the past 20 years. I don't like catchweights. But I am not naïve to their use and history in boxing.

Different aproaches. Pacquiao was smaller so he would want to drain his larger foes if posible. Canelo drains himself to bully smaller fighters and refuses to go 160 where he belongs

A very short and straightforward answer that is essentially spot on.

I hate the practice, across the board, with no agenda.

That doesn't mean I hate individuals who are guilty of it, like Pac or Canelo or SRL...but I do hate that all of them engage in the practice. It just shouldn't be a part of the sport. If super fights need to get made someone can move up or move down, or else they don't happen. End of story.

In the ideal world, couldn't agree more.

Many times when working out a super fight between two stars, there is an equally or more competitive or compelling fight within the division either are at. And that's usually frustrating from my POV.

more like 10 to 25 lbs. lm sure canelo out weighed floyd by 20 to 25 lbs,and he would out weigh ggg by 5 to 10 lbs.

I disagree. Nelo may not have offically had a fight at the middleweight limit, but he weighs well above the super middleweight limit on fight night. He is a middleweight that cuts weight to campaign as a Jr middleweight to hold a significant size advantage over the rest of the crop of jr middleweights. He is definitely a middleweight and the lineal middleweight champ.

Not a fan of it generally but if two guys agree to it then so be it. But when there's a belt on the line then it absolutely shouldn't be allowed. Just my opinion

Why would hating catchweights mean you hate the fighter? I don't hate Canelo for it. I hate the structure in boxing that allows it.
