Yep it's ludicrous the mental gymnastics people will go through to try and fit a narrative.

The deal would of clearly included AJ signing to fight Wilder, to think otherwise would be bonkers as AJ's promoter was basically running DAZN in the US.

Say what you will but 2 years ago no one outside of boxing knew who Wilder was. And now he's borderline a household name.

I know DAZN wanted to make Wilder-Joshua happen but they had no exclusive rights over Joshua.

Wilder is an unskilled slugger, I get it. He basically did what Pacquiao did in 2012 and I don't see what the outrage is all about.

Joshua still has no exclusive deal with DAZN even though Matchroom has left Sky.

Household name ? Are you referring to the UK ? Because he's known by pretty much all fighting fans here in the US but no way is he a borderline Household name

You don't need exclusive rights for a fighter to fight for any network. Plenty of fighters will fight on one network then another if they don't have a deal in place and even if they have a deal for a set number of fights it can be a non exclusive deal so you can fight on other networks between fights for said network.

Hence why Joshua has had fights shown on DAZN despite not having an exclusive deal with them.

You're desperately trying to twist facts to fit a narrative rather than looking at the reality of what happened.

I'm certainly not trying to defend Wilder here but i think everyone is forgetting something: In early June 2018, Wilder agreed to terms set by Hearn to fight AJ on September 15th of that year at Wembley for the originally offered 15 million flat fee. It was Hearn who said that it wasn't enough time for AJ to train (just not for Wilder I guess because he fought Povetkin only a week later on September 22nd that year) nor enough time to promote the fight. These are facts that shouldn't be ignored

DAZN offered Wilder a three fight deal, not a single guaranteed fight with Joshua. Wilder was a free agent, of course he would fight on different platforms if the money was right.

You should look at what DAZN offered instead of making scenarios up all in your head.

Matchroom is Joshua's promoter, not DAZN.

You sure you got your facts right there I remember them bitching over money and the fight never getting contracted. I might be wrong there, but fury was definitely a name wilder wanted on his list that massively back fired

They had a Wilder madatory (i know, shock horror) to consider

So couldnt go right in to the AJ fight, hence why a 3 fight proposal was made

both sides bickered about money after Wilder and AJ's over Ortiz and Parker respectively in March of that year. It was Wilder he agreed to the terms but Hearn came up with the "not enough time to train" excuse but fought Povetkin only a week later than the proposed Wilder bout.
And yes i agree, the Fury cherry pick massively back fired on Wilder

Thing is now it has backfired it's do or die for wilder. Never been a wilder fan but if he gets bullied like he did in the last fight ppv wise it's game over really. Not that interested personally would of liked to of seen AG Fury. That's boxing these days everything is held up till they think they can milk there fighter for every penny possible, that's across the board not just the trio in question.

Where is a reliable source for that?

Povetkin's promoter was putting a lot of pressure on for that fight if you remember
